    450 470l Belt Help

Can you post pictures? If the screw is missing then the obvious answer is to replace it. Not owning a 470L I'm curious to see how a missing screw would make the belt tight.

    450 Head Speed Advice Sought

Cyclone 7, I completely forgot to mention that I made up an excel tool for estimating what RPM you are likely to need for a heli of a certain size and weight and for a certain flight style (find attached). Note that this tool is different to all the other headspeed calculators out there which...

    380/420 Goblin Flippers Vs Skids

Here’s my Goblin Black Thunder with its new skids in place of the flippers. It’s a lot more stable.

Qx Aluminum Alloy Multifunctional Soldering Station Sucks

I picked one up a couple of months back from BG which is just the same, advertised as aluminium but in reality painted plastic. Very disappointing.

    380/420 Goblin Flippers Vs Skids

The flippers are a little unstable on the ground. I find them ok on the 420 but I’m not so keen on them on the 700, in fact I just picked up some standard skids for the 700 Black Thunder

    600 600xn, N556

There was a recall on the idler gears and gearbox that effected the very first batch of 700XN helis. New parts were supposed to have been sent out to anyone who had purchased one of the original batch.... This happened immediately after release so your friends should be using the new parts. I...

    600 600xn, N556

I saw the new 600XN up close and witnessed it's maiden flight on Saturday. This was at a big meet in the UK called Helifest. The 600XN was supposed to be the first one to fly in Europe and only arrived in the country the day before the event. The Align UK team brought it along, it looked very...

    700 My New Black Thunder

Nice! I built a Black Thunder recently and it was probably the most enjoyable build I’ve experienced. The manual is excellent and the fit of every part was perfection

very nice, that's a big old powerhouse of a motor your using, it should have tons of grunt. Here's my Black thunder that I finished a couple of months back:

    380/420 What's Better, Goblin 380 Or Goblin 420

Only experience I have is the ALZRC clone of the 420. I’ve not flown the 380 . I like the 420 a lot, I prefer a heli with a slightly lighter disk loading so that’s why I would tend to go for the 420

    450 Best Batteries

Tony, not sure if that was directed partly at me but FWIW I didn’t intend to ‘slam’ you in any way at all. My comments were just generalisations, I’m sure lots of people fly a 450 on 2650 mah batteries. The point I was trying to make is not to assume that ‘bigger’ mAh is automatically better...

    450 Best Batteries

As others have said MAh is the amount of ‘gas in the tank’...... A larger MAh battery will give longer flight time but as a general rule they will be physically bigger and also heavier. The size might be a problem in physically fitting into the heli. Added Weight reduces performance and also...

    General Torque Tube Vs Belt

I've got helis with belt primary drive, gear primary, belt tail , torque tube tail... you name it (I have way too many helis). I honestly dont notice any difference in performance, efficiency or flight time between the different types of drive. The 'all gear' drives perhaps freewheel for longer...

ESC Spirit Pro Hobbywing Esc Setup

You could try to test stabilisation by tilting the heli and see if the swash always returns to the level position? Though for stabilisation you should be fine just testing it in flight. It's Rescue that you need to bench test just to make sure that the pitch added is positive, not negative.

    Spektrum Blade 330x Ar636a

I dont have a AR636A so I tried reading up about it's firmware updates and now I'm thoroughly confused! It seems that it has a number of different firmware versions each specifically designed for planes or individual models of helicopter and you use the firmware appropriate to the model that you...

That's pretty steep. Amazingly the Synergy 556 looks to be the cheaper option if you went for reasonably priced servos such as KST.
