    ESC Esc Amperage

Actually for the ESC that's not required. The current the ESC sees is a result of the load on the motor which in turn is a result of the prop characteristics and the RPM. The motor will deliver whatever power it takes to spin the prop, if this is too much for the motor then the motor will burn...

    ESC Esc Amperage

I'd need the pitch of the prop to give a more accurate answer. I wrote a little calculator to work this stuff out and it's telling me that if you use a 5x5 prop (5" diameter and 5" pitch) you will pull 22A. If the prop is any lower pitch you should be well below 20A. This is only a guide of...

That's a really special charging setup you are putting together. i cant wait to see it all assembled!

    ESC Esc Amperage

That's right. To take a stab at the ESC rating then we would need to know: Motor Kv Battery voltage (number of cells) What prop you are using Kv on it's own isn't enough.

    General Swash Leveler

I only ever use a zip tie these days. I use a variation of the technique shown in the video. I like to leave the head on when i'm levelling the swash (saves a bunch of time) so instead of fastening a tie around the shaft I just fasten one around the head with the 'tail' of the tie pointing down...

    FBL Gyro Align 3gx

Matt, I've seen people misinterpret the movement of the swash on the 3GX. When you do the test it's best to jerk the heli over very sharply, and you are looking for the initial response of the swash. So if for example you quickly and sharply bank the heli left, the swash should initially...

700 Removing Thrust Bearings From Trex 700e Head

They are not a very tight fit. If you use a drift (any steel rod a bit smaller than the feathering shaft) and go in through the inboard bearing you should be able to catch the inner edge of the outer bearing. It should tap out with minimum effort. If the builder used bearing retainer then it...

    Spektrum Spektrum Dx 6i

There are a number of different ‘modes’ use on transmitters. Throttle on the left like your DX4 is Mode 2. Throttle on the right like your DX6 is Mode 1 It is usually possible to change modes, I don’t have a DX6i so don’t know the exact procedure on that Tx. Someone may pipe up but if not try...

    FBL Gyro Ar6335 Power Problem

After binding it says in the manual that you have to remove the bind plug BEFORE powering off the transmitter. I cant see how it can make any difference as once the receiver is off it shouldn't matter if the transmitter is on or off, but if in doubt it would do no harm to follow the manual...

    700 Xlpower 'specter' 700

Thanks guys. I got 4 more flights today and got the FBL dialed in much better. The stock settings have gains and rotation rates all set quite low. This is sensible because it makes for a safe maiden, but for optimum performance they can usually be cranked up a bit. Head gain went from 55 to 70...

I put a battery through the Specter calibrating the ESC then a bit of gentle hovering etc.. so this is the first flight proper:

    700 Xlpower 'specter' 700

Thanks Keith, I am quite pleased with the way it turned out as I thought the wiring might be difficult but it turned out to be no problem. Maiden flight went without issue. I need to do some tweaking of the Spirit to increase agility as the flip and roll rates are a bit slow right now but...
