450 Devil Puzzle Continues: How To Connect Receiver, Gyro, Servos And Esc

You need to connect the Kbar to your PC and use the Vstabi software to set it up. There is no point trying to set anything up without the kbar, pretty much everything has to be setup from within the kbar.

    700 Oooops!

Oops!... The photo is great! Glad the damage wasn't too bad. I only try to cut grass if it's at least 6" long, I'm chicken.

    700 Sab Goblin Kraken

Hi Neil, I've not shot a video yet. Once I get the fine tuning done on the FBL I'll shoot one. It has a different sound to the previous Goblins, there is a slight noise from the straight cut metal gears, but not much because the case seems to keep most of the noise in.

    700 Sab Goblin Kraken

Recently I sold off a few of the helis that I never fly and used the proceeds to get a new Goblin Kraken. Everyone has been raving about them so decided it would be good to see what all the excitement was about. Its not brand new but only a couple of months old. Spec as follows: Motor...

600 Radically Different New Tarot 550 And 60

700 is on the drawing board, like I said in my reply to Geena, I've seen a couple of 'sneak peak' images and it looks fantastic. Hopefully now they have the 550 and 600 on sale they can focus on getting the 700 into a flying prototype. I was promised one of the first ones, which would be great...

600 Radically Different New Tarot 550 And 60

Yes, I was there as well in fact the bare airframe that can be just seen in the rear of shot is the actual heli I have. The guy you can see installing the battery is Minzhi who's the boss at Tarot and the designer of the Heli.

600 Radically Different New Tarot 550 And 60

Geena, The batteries are tray mounted and slide in from the front. The 'nose cone' is part of the battery tray. The tray itself is retained by a quick release catch similar to that used on the plastic frame Logos. I'll post some pics later today. Yes, Tarot are planning a 700 but it's totally...

600 Radically Different New Tarot 550 And 60

Geena, no the servos and all electronics can be removed very easily without disturbing the frames. The covers you see over the servo are removable, not part of the main frame. Minzhi the designer at Tarot really put a lot of thought into the frame design, there is even a removable cover so you...

600 Radically Different New Tarot 550 And 60

The look does take some getting used to i must admit. Practicality wise its a great idea and Minzhi (the designer) at Tarot has put so much thought into the helis design. The small detail I helped out with was the one way bearing which on the first prototype was a standard needle roller and...

600 Radically Different New Tarot 550 And 60

My absence wasn’t anything related to any member, no need at all for apologies. I’ve been doing plenty of ‘heli stuff’ while I’ve been away so have a few new helis that I can share details of if there is interest. The Tarot is one that comes out flying at every opportunity, it really is a...

600 Radically Different New Tarot 550 And 60

I’ve not been around for a while but I needed to share this one with you guys. Tarot have over the last few months been developing an all new and unique 550 and 600 range of helis. These new helis don’t use a canopy, instead they have a moulded polymer frame. Motor ESC and servos are all...

    General Telemetry Settings

I think the VControl might be clever enough to look at average voltage so not get so effected by very short term dips due to very high load? Plus of course it can do mAh consumed too

    General Binding A Dx6i

Yes, the red wire being disconnected could cause problems but what i'm curious about is how the receiver and servos are working if the red wire from the ESC (which is the supply of power from the BEC) is not connected. The planes electronics should all be 'dead' without that wire. do you have...

    General Telemetry Settings

On my telemetry I typically use 3.4v to 3.45v per cell as the low voltage alarm. If you set it much higher then the alarm will go off every time you do any aggressive flying that puts high load on the battery. I only use the low volt alarm a a last ditch warning, I use a timer as my first line...

General Best Glue To Use . . .

Old school white ‘PVA’ wood glue actually works pretty good providing there is good contact area. Takes a while to dry though. Gorilla glue is another good option. If you have a hot glue gun that works fine too and is ‘instant’ but can be messy and if you use a lot in a build it adds weight.

    Servos Servo Mystery

The DS825M is a tail servo, only one of those is supplied, the other 3 are the swash servos and should be DS820M. If you have it connected to the rudder servo port on the FBL then maybe you have the centre pulse set wrong? It should be 1520us If other servos work normally on all ports there is...

Batteries Lipo Battery C Rating Explained

Nice video Tony. Also maybe worth throwing out there that there is a lot of exaggeration when it comes to C rating. All the independent tests show that no LiPo battery has a constant genuine C rating much over 30. As there is no industry standard way to measure C rating then manufacturers can...
