Airware is just Spektrum’s name for firmware. Boot loader flashing is only required for older Spirits if the SPM4649t gets stuck in bind mode

ESC Spirit Pro Hobbywing Esc Setup

have you gone through the the online guide: Spektrum Integration - Spirit System Manual Particularly, you need to select 'ESC' and 'Text gen' in the Tx telemetry menu. You also need the latest Spektrum Airware for the integration functionality.

Did you bind the SPM4649T using a bind plug?

Scale Leading Vs Trailing Pitch Control

Ahh.. sorry, must be me miss-reading your post. I've never tried CCW rotation so was just going by what my buddy told me. To be honest his heli had been crashed a few times and was in need of some considerable TLC, so the odd flying characteristics may have been nothing to do with the CCW rotation!

Scale Leading Vs Trailing Pitch Control

In practice i dont think you will notice any significant difference from the trailing arms, you just have to remember during setup that 'swash up = pitch down'. You may notice the effects of CCW rotation more.. What about the one way bearing drive direction? Assume this can be easily reversed...

    600 600xn, N556

The idles just seem unnecessary. They were added to the 700XN purely as a fix for a tail heavy CG, but there are much better ways to get a good CG that dont complicate the transmission. Align are long overdue a new 600 electric heli. The old 600L Dominator is discontinued but so far no sign of...

    Batteries Parallel Charging

Exactly as Tony said. You could charge a 500mAh and a 5000mAh together if you wanted.... Though when the mAh is widely different it does become more important to get the voltages close. PS.. in my picture above you can see me charging 4500 and 5000mAh together in parallel.

    FBL Gyro Tail Creeping

Fair point Tony but the 'pulling back on the throttle stick' reaction is really only a problem for those who have previously flown planes or cars or FP helis. For a complete beginner to CP it isn't a natural reaction. In any case its something you absolutely have to get out of the habit of if...

    600 600xn, N556

Yeah, you wait for ages nor a 600 Nitro then two come along at the same time!.. They both look nice. I'm guessing the price points will be somewhat different. I'd like to see more details of the Align, I think it may use the same idler gear arrangement as the 700XN which has been a bit...

    FBL Gyro Tail Creeping

Fair enough Tony but personally I dont see the point of a normal mode curve on an electric heli, beginner or pro. Each to their own of course, it would be a boring world if we all had the same opinion!

    FBL Gyro Tail Creeping

FWIW my personal recommendation is never to use a 'normal mode' throttle curve. I just make all my throttle curves flat line 'idle up' type curves and the ESC in governor mode. On something like the Trex 800 I'd probably start with the throttle curves for my three flight modes set to 70%, 77%...

    FBL Gyro Tail Creeping

As Tony said, remove the trim. I always disable trims in my Tx to avoid inadvertently adding any trim because you should never use it with a FBL. Your tail gain is maybe too low which would mean that the tail doesnt hold position very well. Increase tail gain until you just start to get tail...

    Trucks I Need Help

Is the needle in the carburettor adjusted correctly? If it's screwed fully in it will prevent any fuel from being drawn in. Typically it should be 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 turns out from fully in, but this varies motor to motor. The needle and jets can also become gummed up and blocked if the motor was...

    General Swash Leveler

It's an extra $100 for the version with 'rescue'. It's a total ripoff. They claim it's to keep the price of the basic model down but that makes no sense because even without the extra $100 it's still one of the most expensive FBL available... That's one reason I'd never buy a new Vbar. The...

    450 Futaba 18mz With Align 3gx Setup

I know how frustrating this sort of thing can be. Maybe it is time to ditch the 3GX. Like Tony said, they are long in the tooth and always were 'fussy' at the best of times. All other modern FBL dont require any swash mixing in the Tx, it's all done in the FBL which makes things easier.

ESC Spirit Pro Hobbywing Esc Setup

Yes, more new heli building required! Setting up stability/rescue is much easier with the latest firmware. You now have the ability to assign a dedicated channel to turn 'stabi' function on and off (this needs a spare channel so a 7 channel or better Tx). This is a lot easier than the old way...

    450 Futaba 18mz With Align 3gx Setup

In the Tx the throw of each swash servo can be adjusted using the 'AFR' function. For a 120 Deg swash the values should all be equal, maybe worth checking that they are?
