You can get much the same functionality with Spektrum and the Brain2 as you can with Vcontrol. Main difference is that Vcontrol being a single brand solution does it more seamlessly and ‘slicker’. The Spektrum integration is a bit clunky in comparison.

Yeah, this one had me scratching my head too. It would seem like the ESC was overloaded when the motor failed, and that somehow made it lose it's calibration settings. Doesn't really make much sense but it's the only explanation that fits the facts.

The Kbar is a copy of the Mikado Vbar mini. If you follow the instructions for the Vbar on the Mikado web site you should be fine Manual Mini VBar | VStabi

Servos returning slowly to cente is perfectly normal on any FBL system. You will find that when in heading hold mode the tail servo doesn’t return to centre at all, again this is normal. Your other issues are just about mapping the correct channel to the desired function in the FBL

I don’t recommend it, the metal gear is noisy and needs constant lubrication. Only required for very high power setups and very hard flying

It actually sounds like a Goblin with the metal main gear upgrade, but not quite as much of a metallic ringing because the sound is contained in the housing.

I still haven't done a video but my friend did catch a clip on his phone on Sunday, it's low resolution so not very good to watch but the sound is clear enough:

Methodically follow the setup wizard in Vstabi software and you should be good.
