250 Blade 230 Panic Switch Recovery

I dont have a Blade 230 so I dont know precisely how they activate 'panic' but it must either be by a dedicated channel or by using a mix. Assuming it's a channel: Go into System Settings > Channel Sources. One of the channels (I'm not sure which) will be assigned to the bind button (switch I)...

FBL Gyro MSH Brain-Ikon Rescue Sneak Peak

How do you activate rescue with the Brain? is it by setting gyro gain to a negative value like the Spirit does it?

    Beyond My Hover

Nice safe and controlled flight Phil, good job. You probably want to get comfortable with side on hovering before moving to circuits. The old trick when learning side on flying and circuits is turn your body to face the direction of the heli/plane, this makes orientation easier. After a while...

    New Heli to the Fleet

The speed fuselage on your 500 looks great. I used to have a 500 Pro, nice heli and a good size. The 500 is a good compromise as it flies like a big heli but doesnt have the same intimidation factor or cost as the really big ones. That's not to say that it won't be a bit intimidating at first...

Flight Stabilizers HobbyEagle A3 Super II flight stabiliser

I recently picked up a 'Hobby Eagle A3 Super II' flight stabiliser. I got it locally but these things are available from a number of places including Banggood for about $27, or a bit more if you want the programming box (highly recommended) I've tried basic flight stabilisers such as the...

    Scale New Scale build

The Spirit Pro has 'self leveling' stabilisation that as the name suggests keeps the heli level. What a FBL system on it's own cant do is control altitude or prevent the heli drifting with the wind. If you want a heli that will literally fly by itself for extended time without any correction at...

700 New Heli from Align - Trex 700X

I believe they went with the split frames so they could make the top half of the frame narrower yet still have the bottom half wide enough to take the batteries in the slide-in tray mounting arrangement rather than saddle packs like narrower frame 700's often use. Overall the heli looks pretty...

700 New Heli from Align - Trex 700X

So this is the official video from align for their new 700X. A lot is carried over from their previous 700 but the 700X does feature an all new frame that's narrower and Align has dropped the DFC head for a standard FBL design (which was available as an upgrade for the previous 700): Not sure...

    Beyond My Hover

Good luck with the circuits Phil. You should find the heli easier to fly in forward flight than in the hover, the forward airspeed seems to stabilise them.

    450 Blade chage

I generally prefer to run the largest blades that the heli will take. The longer blades give a much more floaty feel and allow lower headspeed without loss of collective 'punch'. Smaller blades running higher headspeeds give more snappy response but I'm not really a 'snappy' type of flyer.

    FBL Gyro Best Flybarless Gyro

The AR7200BX is discontinued now so only available second hand or maybe in dealers that have old stock. I think the new AR7210BX is pretty much identical except for the optional 'SAFE' stability upgrade? But having used the Spirit I honestly don't see any reason why a beginner couldn't use it...

    450 X# flies again

Uri, What headspeed are you running at? If may be that the combination of high Kv/voltage/gearing combination and quite low duty cycle (throttle %) is putting both ESC and motor under stress. The 10t pinion should have helped. It seems very odd that you cant use higher than 73% which maybe...

    General New Align 470

All newly manufactured Align combo kits come with BeastX Microbeast Plus FBL controllers these days, though there is still old stock with the Gpro and 3GX kicking around in dealers.

    450 X# flies again

my larger Scorpions on my Gob 630 and Trex 600 both run really hot, too hot to touch for more than a few seconds even after a pretty easy sports flight. One uses a Castle ESC the other a YGE so it's not an HW ESC issue. The little Scorpion on my Chase 360 that does use a HW ESC actually runs...

    General New Align 470

I believe it's a 380mm (blade length) stretched version of the 450L. The '470' name is confusing as most other manufacturers now go by blade length, but i guess Align wanted a size designation that fits between the existing 450L and the 500L. Also interesting that they have gone away from the...

    Piro Tuning (Spirit Pro)

Thanks Phil, The camera is just a Mobius mounted on a headband. If you were thinking about getting one you would want the narrowest angle lense, the wide angle are good for FPV but not much use for capturing flights from a head cam. It shoots pretty decent videos when mounted on the heli too...

    FBL Gyro Best Flybarless Gyro

Yeah, they look really very good. I like that they have different types to suit different sizes of heli. The 'HD' version with a separate high current battery/BEC input connector is ideal for big helis... I see one in my not too distant future.

    Piro Tuning (Spirit Pro)

The yellow and orange must be non-Align parts. Align themselves only make black or white. I was flying my Trex 600 pro this weekend so here's a video just to show there is no 'funny business' due to the slight nose down tilt: Trex 623 Pro more of the same at Balgownie - YouTube PS.. the...

    FBL Gyro AR7200BX Tail Issues

I was going to say 'bad pot on the servo'... good that you picked it up. Those black gears are 'supposed' to be stronger but I've found that they strip pretty much as easy as the white ones. If they are stronger it's not by much. I'm not sure if it's possible to press off the tail gears from...
