FBL Gyro What's the Difference Between These 2

Its very confusing the way they have named the Ikon. They introduced the 'iKon v2' about three years ago. The latest version just released they have confusingly called the 'iKon2'. This is just asking for a mix up in my opinion. Both FBL controllers in the original post are the 'old' type. So...

    500 T-Rex 500 DONE

Yes it can be (and is normally) done with the heli assembled. There is no need to disconnect anything in fact you must leave the motor connected otherwise you won't hear any beeps. If you are nervous you could remove the blades 'just in case'. The ESC manual will cover how to do the calibration...

    ESC ESC maybe burnt up?

If you set it to Gov-off then it was indeed 'off'. they come from the factory set to Gov-Elf.

No, ESC calibration cant be done through the FBL setup wizard, it's done with the ESC itself. Read the ESC manual, the usual process is to put the Tx throttle to 100%, then power on the heli (it wont start), wait for some beeps, then fully close the throttle and get the usual arming beeps. This...

    ESC ESC maybe burnt up?

Are you plugging the programming box using the special lead that comes with the box plugged into the programming port on the ESC (and orientating the plug correctly)? You cant program the hobbywing V3 or V4 ESC through the wire that usually connects to the receiver, like you can on most other...

    500 T-Rex 500 DONE

Some drift when in stability mode is not unusual. The 'issue' is that the stability mode keeps the heli perfectly upright, but for a heli to hover stationary it has to lean slightly to the right. Some controllers allow you to program in a slight offset in the stability mode to set some right...

    Micro Trex 150 - thoughta

Maybe not totally 'impossible' but certainly very very difficult. One big problem is that it has a tail motor drive rather than a servo controlling tail pitch. You would need to have a seperate ESC for the tail motor with reversing capability which could be controlled off the servo channel of...

    Another Fla. club shooting

Well, not to be argumentative but the whole of the UK is essentially a 'gun free zone' and we have virtually no shootings of this sort. And I do appreciate that the gun culture in the US and UK are entirely different and the UK solution would be unlikely to be accepted in the US... but even so....

Kits Aeroworks Edge 540 50cc ARF QB

Yes, always test CG with empty tank because the tank is ahead of the CG, so after filling the model will be slightly nose heavy, which is 'safe'. If you set the CG with a full tank then the plane ends up being tail heavy when the fuel is used, which is very bad. If you locate the satellite...

    ESC Cutting wires on ESC

You can cut the ESC wires but it's better to just heat the old bullets and remove them. That way the end of the wire is still tinned with solder. WARNING Never cut the motor wires. They have a heat prood lacquer coating that is almost impossible to remove so you are unlikely to ever get a good...

Prop Help me find a Motor, ESC, and Prop!!!

That motor is only rated for 21A, this 'should' be enough to fly the plane but you would have to prop down. The listing suggests a 7"x4" prop with a 3s battery. It should fly ok but wouldn't be a 'rocket'. Alternatively in you want speed get a larger motor (about 100g weight motor) with higher...

    450 Hiding wires

If it does turn out to still have the problem you might try reducing cyclic gain... Nodding is often caused by the gain being too high.

    FB Gyro speed wobbels

When you say 'loss of the tail' do you mean that the tail shakes as if the gain were too high? If so that's normal, higher RPM requires lower gain. I have my gain % linked to my flight modes so that when i select a higher headspeed flight mode the tail gain reduces slightly. High speed flight...

    450 Hiding wires

I'm less fussy about hiding wiring and sleeving than i used to be. While it may look nice to have all your wiring hidden away and sleeved can be a 'royal pain in the ass' when it comes to maintenance and changing components. It's for the same reason I'd be very hesitant to shorten servo wires...

    450 goblin 380 help

If you are using the DX6i here's a better explanation of the Throttle hold 'strangeness' that I found in another forum: So set your throttle hold to +10% rather than zero... then do a fixed endpoint calibration on the castle ESC. Instructions on how to do this are here...

    450 goblin 380 help

Junior, What Tx are you using? if it's the DX6i it has some strange behavior in the TH gives you different zero endpoint to a normal throttle curve. But whatever Tx you are using you need to calibrate 'fixed endpoints' on the Castle ESC.. have you done that?

    Projects Delta Wing

I replied earlier but for some reason (my fault no doubt) the post didnt show up. For a 'true' triangular delta wing with no tail then a good CG is around 45% root chord. For other shapes here is a calculator: Flying wing CG calculator
