Hi Phil, The tail gears are an interesting subject. You have to use them in pairs. the 104t auto with the 22T spur is the standard ratio and good 90% of flyers. The 102/23t option gives lower tail RPM for those why fly at very high headspeed and like doing screaming overspeed auto-rotations...
