    ESC One more Hobbywing question

It can be done with the V4 Hobbywing ESCs, the Jlog interface 'gizmos' are supposed to support it and I've seen videos of it working, though I've not yet got mine to work properly with my Spektrum Tx.

FBL Gyro Training mode and bail out together on Beast Plus

Hi, Sorry to hear about the crash. I'm not a microbeast user but in general FBL stability systems have two modes: 'Normal Stabilisation' - This is where the heli always return to the upright position 'Acro Stabilisation' - this is where the heli returns to the nearest 'level' orientation which...

600 What and which motor do I need

Good that you got it working. Brushless motors usually are very reliable things because they are so simple (just some copper wire a few magnets and a couple of bearings). ESC's on the other hands are very complicated, so nine times out of ten it will be the ESC.

    500 mg90s settings

If I recall correctly the Vbar sets all analogue servos to 50Hz and all digitals to 133Hz. This tends to indicate that all digital will work at 133Hz. Mikado apparently did lots of testing and conclude that there was no advantage in higher refresh rates... so probably best do as Neil and Tony...

FBL Gyro Tuning B.D. Axon Gyro on my T-Rex 700X

Sounds good Phil. Personally I've never bothered with rate mode on the tail, I always fly heading hold. Other than for very specialist purposes like maybe scale helis, and speed helis I cant see any reason to use rate mode. I wouldn't worry about having to use low gain settings, as long as the...

    700 Goblin 700 Speed

It wont be ready for this weekend Neil, but Lynn (the wife) is away the following weekend so i can have a heli-fest:D. And i'll remember the golden rule: :voidh:

FBL Gyro Tuning B.D. Axon Gyro on my T-Rex 700X

Funny, I was flying my 700X and also 'playing' with gains though it's impossible to compare numbers directly as we are using different Tx and FBL. For head gain I had is set at 96 in the Vbar. I increased this to 110 and got some oscillation when pulling out of loops, so I dropped it to 100...

    700 Goblin 700 Speed

Slow progress on the 700 speed. I decided rather than to go straight in and tear it down and rebuilt that I'd just check a few critical components and if they looked fine I'd call it good. The seller was very experienced, seemed like a genuine guy and talked a good job, so I wasn't expecting any...

FBL Gyro Tuning B.D. Axon Gyro on my T-Rex 700X

Phil, If you accurately level the swash, then later find it's gone out of level when you haven't adjusted anything, that would be cause for concern. It might mean that there is a servo problem. A guy I know just got himself an Axon, it's fitted to his new Goblin 570. He's only had a couple of...

    General Just getting started!!

I cant imagine any reason why not. Supply of JR products has been very patchy recently but providing you can get hold of a suitable receiver you should be fine.

    Hello

Hi jay, The walkera 180 is a fixed pitch heli with a 45 degree stabiliser/flybar, this makes it very stable, forgiving and all round easy to fly (but limited in it's capabilities). The NanoCPX and Trex 450 are collective pitch helis that are far more advanced, but also much less stable and...

    500 mg90s settings

I'm no expert on this but all standard servos are centre pulse length 1520us. For frequency 200Hz should be fine, lower values are also safe, to high can cause problems.

    Added Unanswered Threads Tab

That's a great idea Tony. All too easy for a new thread to slip under the radar and go unanswered, this new feature should stop that.

    General Gaui X3L Tech tip

Thanks for the tip.. I dont have the Gaui X3L but I have just picked up a Goblin 700 Speed which uses the same 'flipper' type landing gear so I'm going to keep a close eye on it during first few flights. I'm not going to be using the heli for speed flying so a change to standard landing gear may...

    My helicopter fleet

Nice fleet!.. I'll have to take a pic of my collection some time but there are getting so many it's hard to fit them in frame.. It's an addiction for sure!

600 My TRex 600 ESP Rebuild

Yes, you are right on the TT bearing position, the manual shows if slightly off centre which i think is to stop harmonic resonance. Personally I've found that central also works fine but best go with the manual. The bearing doesnt need any extra lubrication.

600 My TRex 600 ESP Rebuild

The downside of de-greasing them is that you must then oil them every few flights, which is a lot or work and makes a mess of the heli. Personally I've not has a problem with leaving bearings with 'factory grease' this includes some that are 4+ years old and still doing fine. The TT bearings...

600 My TRex 600 ESP Rebuild

The bearings are pre-impregnated with grease, theoretically they dont need any lubrication but a bit of oil wont do any harm. As Tony says, grease wont get past the shields on the bearing so wont do any good.

600 My TRex 600 ESP Rebuild

+1 on Tony's advice, if the TT has one bearing put it in the middle, if it's got two space then equidistant along the tube. Millimetre accuracy is not necessary. (as I recall the standard 600 has one bearing). A spot of CA secures the bearing to the tube and a squirt of WD-40 or similar into...

Post Your Thoughts On The New Website

Nice work on the new layout Tony. I'm still kinda getting used to it to be honest as it's quite a bit different to what i'm used to but i'm sure it's just a familiarity thing.
