I may be missing something because I have just introduced myself to an awesome restaurant in Alabama. But I didn't follow what you were saying in that post above. Tonight is going to be a good night, no matter what happens!

Yea, we can't drive anything that tall over here. 13'6" is all we can do here legally unless we have permits. And there is just something about a cab-over that I can't wrap my head around lol. Having to secure everything when you need to work on the engine... lol.

I will have to get a new picture of my truck. I changed the lettering on it when I was home. Took the ugly truck number decals off the bumper and made new ones for the hood. I also changed my decals on the side of the truck with my company name, D.O.T. number and so on. Thought about putting another decal on here, but that will have to wait until later.

Here is an old picture of the truck. It's a 2012 Volvo 670 with a 425HP Volvo D13 engine with an Eaton Fuller 10 speed Trans. As you can see, this is NOT the trailer in the last pictures lol.

But again, I will have to get some new pictures of the truck with the new lettering. The one thing I LOVE about this truck is I have a booth style table in the back, which is where I"m sitting at now waiting on a load. Lots of room, 1800w inverter, coffee pot, microwave, toaster oven, two tablets on the dash with my cell phone, refrigerator, leather seats in teh front, the list goes on lol.

Hi Tony OMG what a really really nice rig , we dont have many bull nose rigs over here as they make the rig & trailer combo to long for our roads , I used to drive a load loader with was 150 feet long with the dolly on the front ,run it at 200 tonnes most days but the most weight moved was 500 tonnes , and that was 2 units at the front and one at the rear with the trailer between them , the 200 tonne set up max speed was 45 mph so took a long time to go any where , had to have Police escort if we was over a set size , was fun but to old for that now , take care and look after that rig and it will serve you well for a long time as its a Volvo I am driving one now its just hit 519367 km and still going strong

Yeah, after I had all of the work done on it it's a pretty good truck. Something close to $8000 worth of work on the truck to get it where it is. Right now, I have 247,077 miles on the clock on this one. Not much lol. But it's a pretty good truck. As soon as I have the money though, I will be returning this truck and getting the truck I want.

Hi Tony so what truck is in your dreams then . On the back of my cab I had " any which way but home" and on the doors at the bottom front it had in small letters 580 horses and 1 donkey lol

Thought I saw Tony's Volvo at the end of the week at my work until I also noticed it didn't have a sleeper on it... still, it made me look twice...

Tony...

If you are needing a good radar app and one of your tablets are running Android... look in the Amazon Market for one called PYKL3, it's free now. I'd call it one of the two best radar apps for Android out there, the other one is called Radarscope but runs $10, well worth it if needed but since PYKL3 is out there, free is still better. I have both myself.

If it's a Windows based tablet... There's GrLevel3 v2 available but you'll need to be serious about needing/wanting to see radar... it runs $80. I've got it on my home computer, a netbook and my notebook and use it all of the time to track severe weather anywhere in the USA. It comes already with all of the main roads included but if you need minor roads, they can be added as well. This is one of the main programs many storm chasers use.

Hey Randy, nope, it wasn't me. I'm no where near Oklahoma right now. Stuck over here in Alabama right now waiting to unload in the morning. This week has completely sucked!!!

As for the radar apps, I will download PYKL3 and give it a shot. I already have RadarScope and have had it for quite a few years now. Great resolution and awesome when it comes to spotting tornadoes. I love radarscope and have used it many times already in teh truck. It's on all of my tablets and my phone. No Windows based items in my truck though.

LOL... I knew it wasn't you for certain once I saw there wasn't a sleeper on it... but as I mentioned, made me do a double check on it...

I lean towards Radarscope most of the time, it has the SuperRes options that a standard Level 3 radar doesn't have... but on the otherhand, PYKL3 is much more configurable. It has 4 viewsets which you can set each to have different options that show on the screen quickly. If you really want to get down to the nitty gritty, you can define your own color tables so they are to your own liking instead of taking the default ones.

I customized my reflectivity table to match the one I'd made for my GrLevel3 v2... I could do the same for the rest of the different radars ( like velocity, rainfall etc ) but haven't gotten around to it yet. I'll probably change up the velocity and rainfall amount color tables once I get bored enough to fiddle with them.

I know I have slacked off on this thread, and it's for good reason. I have not been doing much other than waiting. And here I sit waiting again, but this time, I have a short story. Moral of this story, don't be a douche to those that are going to haul your freight.

I was under a load last night that I picked up yesterday heading down to Jacksonville Florida. Good little run across I-10. I knew I wasn't going to make it, so I told my agent that it was going to be late about 3 hours. His words to me "Just do what you can". So I get to my delivery this morning at about 1000 after 3 hours of driving and almost no sleep, and they say what they always say "we will just have to work you in, could be a few hours though". However, the next truck in line was late and I snuck in there and got unloaded in about an hour.

At this time, I called another agent to get me back to Alabama for another load and within an hour, she calls me and says there is one going from Jacksonville to Pensacola, or however you spell that name lol. It's funky. But, it only pays $1.00 a mile. However, it pays for my fuel to get there. So I accept it. At that time I had to sit and wait on a load number. Well, I didn't sit and wait, I headed over there and waited there.

My theory is, these are all biscuit and gravy runs. The gravy runs are the ones that pay great, like the $3 a mile I just hauled. Then you have your biscuit runs, this dollar a mile to get you back to your gravy...

So after sitting there for about 15 minutes, and getting impatient, I called them. and wouldn't you know it, the number came across right as I called them. Yea right... So I head into the warehouse and tell the guy I have the number. He tells me I need a BOL and to talk to "Keith". So I go in there and talk to him and he is the rudest dude I have talked to yet. So I told him "you can find someone else to load this load, I'm not taking it". He looked at me and said, "your company will not be happy if you turn down this load". Then I told him "I am my own company!" lmao. This changed his whole expression. "Oh, well we really need this load hauled, It's going to a military man and he is waiting on it. So I told him that he needs to be the one to explain to the soldier why his stuff was not getting hauled.

Moral of the story, don't be a douche to those you rely and depend on to haul your freight. If they are like me, your load will be late! Because I'm not hauling for someone, or doing someone a favor when they treat me like complete trash. Just not going to happen!

So today, I'm find with waiting on another load. Because I know that company is going to get their ass chewed out over this one from the broker. And to the Military member, I hope you get your things soon!

Tony, I am glad to hear you are doing well and not taking crap from anyone. If you ever get a load down to Riverview (were I live), Brandon, Tampa area let me know I will meet you.

Almost had a load going to Tampa today from Savanna Ga. But, don't have my TWIC yet, so couldn't go to the port. Pretty sad, I had a security clearance from the military department, but I can't see a ship in a dock...

oh well, next time, at least you are in the southern states and not freezing your butt up north. Wait, you next load could be to Michigan, never mind.

As long as it's not going over the rockies, I will be fine. The issue with heading here to Florida is there is NO freight coming OUT. So you have to deadhead to Georga or South Carolina just to find a load. I will be making some calls tomorrow and getting out of here. I'm on teh west side of Jacksonville right now sitting at this very small and nasty Pilot truck stop. Hiding out in the corner hoping that my truck doesn't get hit.
