Quad Quad Build

I did as Stam said I put all trims at zero went into kk2 and seen what he was referencing and most all of the numbers except throttle were off. So I used sub trims and adjusted everything and now I am waiting for more time to give her a test. After seeing it's reaction to trim settings I'm pretty confident things will go smoother next time out. Big thanks to Stam for pointing me to that and thanks to all for the help.
I'm going to have to get another battery because I know I'm gonna play hard once she ready to rock.
I've got a 1350 on it now was thinking on going up to 1500 or possibly an 1800.

I currently use 3s Zippy compact 1500 and 1800 25c.
In the beginning I was getting 9 minutes flight time but as I started flying more aggressively it's now more like 6 minutes.
I guess my batteries are starting to show their age too.
1500 to 1800 seems to be a good compromise between flight time and agility.
I see very little difference between the 2.
I think when I replace them I may try going higher in the C rating.

I have 5 batteries and that is just not enough. :)

Also check your CG (centre of gravity)
That huge battery lead sticking out the back needs to be trimmed down.
It will help with the CG and it wont risk hitting a prop in flight.

Is that time also based on any fpv load

Yup, includes FPV gear and LEDs.
The only time I fly LOS is if I have changed something that I want to check first.
I forgot to mention, flight times are reduced on the 1500 by up to a minute and full throttle does not give quite the response that the 1800 gets.
That's why I will probably look at a higher C rating for my next lot.

I have been doing some web surfing for batteries.
I currently have an E Flight 1350 3S but E Flights are not the cheapest in the pack.
I am looking at these 2 from the USA location.
ZIPPY Compact 1800mAh 3S 25C Lipo Pack (AR Warehouse)
and
ZIPPY Compact 1800mAh 3s 40c Lipo Pack (AR Warehouse)
As per weight their not that bad as compared to the weight of the E Flight I have. Yes more but not that much.

For the price difference I am considering the 40C battery.
I have other Zippys for the EOX and they seem fine, any thoughts?

Also I noticed a Zippy called FlightMax....is it just a name (sales pitch) or is there a plot to this gimmick?

Yea I thought at least for now it gives her something to stand on lol.
Might look kind of goofy but they seem stable for now. May take some small rubber bands and
Secure the clamping a bit more until I decide on permanent landing gear.
Their kind of a convertible solution lol.
Got to at least get an A for creativity lol

I wanted to add this...
I'm glad I found and joined here.
I also belong to hobby kings forum and I have to say that the feedback here is much more desirable and the level of help is more satisfying than over there.
There I was a member for 2 days and got blasted for asking a question that had already been asked several days prior.
I do search forums but do not always find the answer I am looking for so I ask.
Let's just say I've not post over there in quite some time.
To all I say thank you

Are the 2 200 'too heavy for these 250's?

Pretty much, mine will fly with a 2200 but it just feels sluggish.
It does not respond to stick inputs like it does with 1500 or 1800.
I have also heard that the increase in weight means that flight duration increases very little.

The flightmax is their standard battery, the compact is, well, more compact.

I would be a bit concerned about the 40c being 27 grams heavier.
I think if I get higher C batteries I will probably go down in capacity to maintain the lower weight.

A good test would be to put some extra weight with your current battery and see how well it flys.

I know these fly ok on 1800 25c, they have a 35c burst rating so that means you can draw 60+ amps briefly.
Not many beginner level miniquads will do that.
The 1500 40c has sparked my interest for my next battery purchase.

Most of us are running the Zippy Compacts. Either the 1500 or 1800. I have the 35C 1500, and I fly 6mins.
You can fly it with 2200s but it will feel slow and sluggish.

All of that flaming is why I created this site. I as well got flamed when i started and almost gave up on the hobby. But I thought there had to be a better way. And thus rc-help.com was created. Where no question, answered or not, is too small.
