They are very flimsy, but they work well.
And the fact they are soft, means in a crash, the prop break and doesn't send any stress through to the motor/bearings.

I tried 5030 and 6030 on my quad last night and the 6030 was pretty much the same as the 5030, but as you get more pop with the 6030 you tend to fly it harder and hence use a bit more battery.

HQ props 5040 seems to be a good compromise between flight time and performance.
The 6030 seemed not quite as crisp on mine.
Tended to float a lot more.

Well learned today that cold weather and 2 sided tape don't mix.
All of my landing gear as well as my leds came off.
Grant it it's only 10 degrees out but I am using some of the best 3m 2 sided material I can get my hands on. Had to special order it for a little project a year or so ago.
Heck under normal Temps I could literally break the arms to take the landing gear off.
Well back to the drawing board

I see most people put the red's on the back, I like them on the front.
I will post more on how I mounted them once I get better pic's
In short I made the mounts out of a plastic cable spool.
I ended up doing some zip tie work after the 2 sided tape failure the other day
to keep the landing gear on as well as the rear antenna from my AR8000.
I just wished this weather would clear up.
We just got about 5 inches yesterday :(

Got a question for Lee
Lee...KK2 Board
I am not sitting in front if it now but can I set the ARM function to an AUX switch
instead of Stick?
I would like the ability to turn the motors off as quickly as possible instead of
waiting for it to disarm with the stick.
Sometimes I get confused when disarming, I often move the stick in the arm direction]instead of the disarm direction :\

Hello Again
Quick question.
I typically clean off the surfaces of things with rubbing alcohol
prior to placing 2 sided tape to something.
In this case I am wondering if I can do so on a
flight controller board, more so the KK2 board?
I want to place the board back onto the frame using
2 sided foam tape but I am curious if rubbing alcohol
will harm the underside of the board.
Now I do not plan on soaking it just enough to get the job done?

With that being said...sorry full of questions :)
Instead of the standard 2 sided foam tape could I use the
sided velcro on the board?
This way it would allow for easy removal.
My only concern here is that 2 sided velcro has alittle
give to it which may cause the flight board to be a bit out of level?
Not much I am sure but that would be the only draw back? Thoughts?

I have cleaned my boards with alcohol, after crashing into the sea.
But I have never needed to clean surfaces for sticking, when using 3M gel tape.
It is the best stuff for mounting electronics, and is super sticky.
All my FBL units on my helis, my FC boards on my multis, and all the rx equipment has it on.

Def don't use velcro for mounting FC boards.

I dont think rubbing alcohol would hurt the board I use it to clean things to.
Im going to try this setup for mounting my KK2.1
Do you know if there is a difference bettwen KK2.1 and KKK2.1.5quad+copter.jpg

Difference is firmware.
Which board do you have exactly?
Looks like an MRM KK2?
Now as far as this setup how are you holding the board to the foam container?

The board came from myrcmart it is KK 2.1 Flight Controller
I have not powered it up yet. the board fits snug into the foam box. If needed I can use some packing inside and put the top back on.

Alcohol is probably the best affordable way to clean electronics. One it evaporates almost instantly or when power is applied. Two it removes any oils and dirt that could potentially short the board.

As for mounting 3m is the way to go.

Just tossing this out there.
I would reconsider your mounting option.
If nothing but the snugness of that foam case is securing the board
it still stands the chance of being dislodged to the point to
where it will throw off your gyro's.
It does not take a lot for that to happen.
Once that happens the quad is going to possibly gain a mind of its own.
You may find yourself fighting to get it set up to a good flying condition.
I too ended up placing my KK board in a case I had ordered.
Recently I opted out and just mounted the board directly to the bottom plate.
If the concern is for the safety of the board I too shared that concern.
After several alterations to settings and such, I decided to get rid of the case
so as it was easier to gain access to the board in the field without things in the way.
Truth is for a crash to actually get to the board it will have to be a good one.
Also if you happen to hit water as a result no containment option out there will
save us from that.
As most have added in a thread of mine get some good 2 sided 3m foam tape
and stick the board to the plate.
In my case I used 2 layers to get the board far enough away from the carbon
fiber so as to not accidentally touch the metal pins.
In any case just a thought
