    450 Spinning 450 dominater

If you are 100% sure that compensation is correct then you could have the tail gain set very low. Also a photo of the tail of the heli might help us spot possible assembly errors.

    Chargers New Parallel Charging System

As for using a LiPo as a power source.. It's simple enough, the only thing to watch for is that if using a 6S lipo as a power source then the charger must be rated for at least 26V input voltage. If you are only flying with big batteries then it's not really a practical option but if you ever...

    Chargers New Parallel Charging System

Phil, That's a fantastic display that your charger has. Seems like you might still be charging based on battery capacity. The display says 6S 5000, for it to know that you must have input the 5000mAh manually? Basically either find the mode that allows you just to set amps directly or tell a...

Power Supply's server power supply conversion

Sorry, i wasn't trying to be negative, it looks like a very clever piece of kit. End of the day choice is good and we all look for different things. It would be a boring world if we all picked the same stuff.

    Chargers New Parallel Charging System

Phil, If you have some large batteries that are past their best they can be used as a field power source for charging smaller batteries. It depends just how bad the old batteries are, if they are puffed up like balloons then you want to ditch them from a safety point of view, but if they are...

Power Supply's server power supply conversion

I guess it depends on what features you are looking for, and brand loyalty often plays a part. The RF tag reader is an interesting novelty but for me there are more important features to look for in a charger. I'm not one to be much interested in compiling reams of data on my battery usage and...

    A hover test :(

Looked good, was the little circle at the end not intentional?.. It looked like it was under full control. It's got an unusual sound to it, and the rotors slowed very quickly when you powered off. What mechanicals is it using?

Power Supply's server power supply conversion

They are both very good chargers. The Powerlab range have a very strong and loyal following but bang for buck the Hyperion looks like it delivers. Personally I'm an iCharger man. If you have the budget for the Powerlab then for just a very small amount more you could have an iCharger 406 Duo...

500 ALZRC Devil 420 FAST - build log

I always advise anyone never to attempt to shorten motor wires, for at least the majority of motors that have multistrand wingdings. It's almost impossible to remove the lacquer on all the hair like strands and if you dont get it off all of them you end up with only some of the wires conducting...

    500 Trex 500 Rudder Conversion

Reading through the manual it doesnt appear that there is the ability to adjust I gain separately. The only option you might try is the small /large heli setting as this may change default gain values.

    500 Trex 500 Rudder Conversion

There are two 'components' to gain in a gyro 'P gain' and 'I gain'. When you adjust gain in the Tx you change both. The I gain is what gives the gyro 'heading hold'.. If it's too high you get a slow lazy wag of the tail. Usually there is a way that you can adjust the I gain independent of...

    500 Trex 500 Rudder Conversion

Slow wag is often caused by binding or slop in the tail mechanism.. I'd double check that the new rod isn't binding. It can also be due to a tired or slow tail servo. If all that checks out you can try reducing the 'I gain' in the gyro slightly.. Assuming I gain is adjustable independent of...

    Hey

Hi Pål, That's some nice helis and a great workshop you have there. So whereabouts in Norway are you? I've visited Norway a few times, it's a beautiful country and friendly people. cheers Steve

Batteries For how long a charged lipo battery can be stored?

There is no 'safe' limit. Basically every minute a battery spends fully charged causes accelerated damage to the battery, it's only a tiny amount but it ads up. So it's best practice to limit how long a battery spends in the fully charged state. A few days once in a while wont do any measurable...

    Chargers New Parallel Charging System

I'm sure that there will be a way to bypass the 'nanny state' feature and just select charge current directly... But quite how you do that on your charger i dont know.

    Chargers New Parallel Charging System

Phil, as I hinted at in my previous post, one way to cheat the 'nanny state' software that tries to force you to charge at 1C is lie about the battery capacity. So lets say you have four 5000mAh batteries to charge in parallel. Instead of entering 20,000mAh tell a little white lie and type in...

    Chargers New Parallel Charging System

Thanks Phil, I also use adaptors for the main power connectors, which I think is what you are talking about. The balance connectors on the vast majority of batteries and boards are 'JST-XH' type so the battery should be able to plug direct to the board. But I see on your setup that you are...

    Chargers New Parallel Charging System

Phil, Like Uri I'm a bit confused over this talk of 'balance cables'.. The balance cables come with the battery, normally you just plug the battery balance cable direct into one of the ports of your parallel charge board, there is no requirement for additional cables. There must be a way to...
