    450 Battery Problems...

This is a 'stand alone' multi function tester from Hobbyking that does battery IR among other things: Turnigy™ 7in1 Mega Meter Battery Checker/Watt Meter/Servo Tester The Wayne Giles ESR meter: Universal ESR Analysis Meter - ProgressiveRC And the cheapest of the Turnigy 'Reaktor' chargers that...

    450 Battery Problems...

The best one is called the 'Wayne Giles ESR meter' it's the gold standard for IR measurement and the one all others are bench marked against, but probably a bit OTT for most users. At the more budget end of the range Hobbyking do a couple of battery testers that have IR functionality... let me...

    450 Battery Problems...

Traditional 450 helis (that spin 325mm blades) are usually designed around a 3S 2200mAh battery. Recent 450 helis have grown to 360mm blade size and they usually use 6S batteries in the 1200mAh to 1400mAh range (and different motors to suit). Go for at 30C, the higher the better

    General Fl heads (align trex)

Is this FL head for your 600? You can use the grips and spindle shaft from the DFC. You need the FL head, swash, pitch control arms and links. You also need to use the main shaft off the 550 as the 600 DFC one is too short. I converted my 600 to standard flybarless ages ago, before the 'FL'...

    450 Battery Problems...

Icharger or Powerlab chargers do IR checking, or you can buy stand alone battery checkers that do it. If your batteries are 5 years old then that's the problem for sure. Even when properly stored 5 years is a long time and it's a lottery (with bad odds) as to if they will be usable after that...

500 ALZRC Devil 420 FAST - build log

So despite some mixed weather, including fog and blutery wings I got a few flights in on the Devil 420. It all went without hitch. I had it setup within the first flight and after that she flew as if I'd had the heli for years, it goes really well. I cant recommend the heli highly enough, it's a...

    700 Goblin 700 Speed

Bummer about the ESC going up in flames, at least it doesnt seem to have burned the rest of the heli. I've gone over mainly to Hobbywing ESC's on my fleet but i still do have a Castle Edge 120HV in one heli and it works fine, never been any trouble.

    700 ESC

Yeah, the Hobbywing 130A is a great ESC and the built in BEC saves a lot of hassle too. If you order from Hobbywingdirect.com use the code 'RCHelination' or 'Platinum ESC4U'

450 Live Build ALZRC Devil 450 Pro V2

I hope the builds started well Tony. The time differences are a pain because it worked out the early hours of the morning over here. If the quality of the kit is as good as the ALZRC Devil 420 you should enjoy the build. The blades were the only thing i had any quality concern about as the root...

500 ALZRC Devil 420 FAST - build log

I got home early today so put a long shift in the get the devil 420 finished, so that's it all finished, setup and ready to go:

    500 HK Assault 450

Jimbo, you don't want to rely on the balls just being screwed into plastic arms. If it were me I'd get balls with longer threads so I could get a nut on the back. As noted above, the colour coding is meaningless, just swap two wires.

    Cases My charging case.

Nice job on the case Geena. if I ever need a charge case I'll go the 'home made' option too, because I'm too tight fisted to pay the prices that ready made ones come in at. As it is I tend to fly in short sessions at a field that's ten minutes away. I can get all the flights I can fit in to...

450 Could anyone tell for me, what kind of servos they are ?

Genuine KST are very good servos, the DS215MG are fine, lots of people use them. If you want higher torque and the latest 'hall-effect' (no pot) design the new KST MS325 is the ticket... I'd take KST over any of the older Align servos, though the latest Align servos are very good too.

450 Could anyone tell for me, what kind of servos they are ?

KST's have 'KST' anodised onto the top of the case and the servo model name along with 'KST' anodised on the red part of the case on the side. So they aren't actual KST branded servos, but the case looks identical except for the marking so they may be either an re-brand or a clone.. hard to say...

FBL Gyro Microbeast Plus vs Bavarian Demon 3X

The GPS module is still under development so it's feature set hasn't been announced yet, but the very minimum it would give is a rescue function that incorporated position hold. But potentially it could have a whole load more capability, return to home, 'geo fence' and 'hard deck' (i.e. heli...

General New Helicopter Build Coming, What Do You Want To See?

For me if it's a build video what works best is one that focuses in on the tricky/interesting bits and whizzes past the routine stuff. But that's just me, a beginner may want to see where every screw goes and which way you turn them!

    General KFm Theory

Yeah, I've hear the truck tailgate comparison before. Trouble is it's not at all valid for airfoils because a conventional airfoil is a streamline shape, a truck is anything but streamline. If you want an idea what a 'tailgate' sticking up does for a streamline airfoil get a glider with spoilers...

    General KFm Theory

Not sure why i didn't see this post before, a subject that I've had much lively debate about on other forums! The claims made for KF airfpoild are to be blunt nonsense. I actually shared a few emails with the inventor Dick Kline a few years ago, he's a really nice guy but knows 'zip all' about...

General New Helicopter Build Coming, What Do You Want To See?

A video on the correct 'stomping procedure' for the 3GX would be invaluable. I find the cases are pretty tough and if you don't catch them just right with a stout boot they can sometimes survive the stomping, which is very frustrating!
