To be honest it's hard to think of how it could be an incompatibility between the Futaba system and the 3GX. If you are using the standard multi wire output then it's outputting a universal industry standard PWM signal, exactly the same as any other receiver outputs.

My personal favourite is the Spirit Pro. Ideally whatever new FBL you get you would want an Rx that has S-bus output so you can connect it to the FBL by single wire.

If the Tx monitor is indicating that it's sending out a signal to move the pitch servo, but the pitch servo does not in fact move, then i'd expect that the 'fault' is in the 3GX settings or in how the Rx is wired to the 3GX?

You must adjust the position of the servo arms on their splines and if necassary servo trim in the FBL (no sub trim in Tx) in order to get all three servo arms exactly level at mid stick. Sounds like you have set the arms to be level at bottom stick, which isn’t going to work

1800RPM is way too low for a 500. Try cranking it up to something closer to 2500RPM

Doing the standardisation with the blades off wont do any harm. For a maiden I'd typically take off with a 75% flat line curve. My other two modes would usually be 80% and 85%. After the maiden I'll tweak the curves as needed.

RPM standardisation is easy. The textbook procedure is to set a ‘flat’ 50% throttle curve. You just spool the heli up using the 50% curve and with zero pitch, allow the RPM to stabilise. That’s all there is to it. Now re set the throttle curve to what you want for flight.

I've also never used the Vortex but it has a reputation for being easy to setup. You just need to study the manual carefully and work through the setup methodically step by step. Nothing we can tell you here will describe the process better than the manual already does.

If the main shaft is bent then 9 times out of 10 the feathering shaft will be bent too.. it's thinner so bends easier than the main shaft. Check them all.
