    380/420 ALZRC 380 ESC Calibration

Don't change the trims. The beeping is almost always that the ESC is not receiving a throttle signal. This could be because the throttle lead is plugged into the wrong port on the FBL, or plugged in backwards, or perhaps the channel is not correctly assigned. Also only if you are using a BeastX...

    500 Start up time

The advantage of 'Store' is that it calibrates on first spoolup and stores the setting. This means that you get exactly the same RPM on ever flight. ELF on the other hand calibrated on every spoolup and can result is a slightly different RPM every time.

    500 Start up time

I find default a bit slow, I usually reduce it slightly. Maybe I'm impatient but in my experience 10s is still plenty smooth enough even in a large heli.

just make sure when you do the setup that in the Spirit channel assignment 'Channel 1' is assigned to throttle. It can default to 'unassigned' on a new setup.

    General Simple question on maingear!

providing it fits and the pinion meshes properly then all should be good. 1 tooth out of 150 wont make any noticeable difference to the gear ratio.

    General Simple question on maingear!

I can't tell you if the 151t would fit or not as there are many variables in gear design. All I can tell you is that on most helis the tail ratio wont be effected. Yes, 90A is massive overkill on a 470 and will add quite a bit of weight.

    General Simple question on maingear!

On most RC helis the tail is driven off a seperate gear/pulley, so changing the main gear has no effect on tail gear ratio.

here is some of my old man boring flying with my TDSF from the weekend:

The cables are easy to make if you have a crimper, if not then yes, you need to buy one. Throttle assignment is the same as if you were using a standard satellite receiver, no different at all.

    ESC Hobbywing Problem?

Motors are very reliable things, there is really nothing to go wrong except the bearings, and this doesn't appear to be a bearings issue. It's quite normal for Align motors to run hot. Rule of thumb (pun intended) is that if you can hold a finger on the motor for 5 seconds without it burning you...

    380/420 ALZRC380 Rx

For a 380 heli the 4651T with it's dual diversity antenna will be fine on it's own, but the Spirit does give you the option to run a satellite as a redundant backup for an extra level of safety.

    700 Something unique

You can run lower headspeed on smaller helis too (but not as low as you can run on bigger types). The same rules apply, by reducing headspeed you get longer flight times. You do of course lose some performance unless you can trim weight from the heli. Increasing your collective pitch range can...

    380/420 ALZRC380 Rx

Depends what FBL you are using but traditional satellites are a bit 'old hat'. A serial receiver like the AR4651T is a better option these days. They have dual diversity antenna, telemetry and FBL integration capabilities, all of which are lacking in a standard satellite. If using a standard...

General Trex 470 Tail Set Up

Yeah, that's the ESC. It's not from Hobbywing, it's Align's own. It's ok in linear throttle mode but dont enable the governor, it causes wag.

General Trex 470 Tail Set Up

What ESC are you using? If it's the standard Align one dont use the ESC governor, it's rubbish and causes a wag that cant be tuned out. Otherwise if the wag is slow then i'd try cranking up the gain. If you get to the point where you just start seeing a fast shake of the tail on hard pitch...

380/420 Training gear on or off???

Good luck, the heli will be quite a bit more responsive without the training gear, also you might find that initially you struggle slightly with orientation as people often subconsciously use the balls as visual indictor of the orientation of the heli. It's good to get rid of them ASAP though.

380/420 trying to get back up with the times

The XL/MSH Protos 380 'Evo' is a fantastic heli. One of my flying buddies has one and loves it. If I were in the market for a heli of that size that's the one I'd go for no question

500 Batteries atlernatives for Align t-Rex 500x Dominator

Also FAR too heavy at nearly 1Kg. The recommended packs are about half that weight. It would make the heli ridiculously nose heavy and overweight. The recommended pack is 6S 3300mAh, best stick with that, the guys who designed the heli know what will work.

    700 Something unique

It weighs in at 2460g ready to fly including the 5S 4500mAh battery. That's less than half the weight of a typical 700. I find that to fly with the performance that a standard 700 has, I need between 1250 and 1400rpm. Those speeds give me 11 and 9 minute flight times respectively. 18+ minutes...
