What Did You Do Today???

Oh man, this would freak me out!.. Being from Hawaii, and when I had Spike, I never worried about this sort of thing.. Now a few times, he cut him self to the bone on busted glass and ran a mile at full sprint to the omega station where he had no more paw pads left. See those white socks, they were red. Then I had to take him home and bandage up my big oaf hound.. I can't believe that guy! Loyal to the end. I miss miss my big oaf hound!!!

I flew 4 packs today. Trying to get back into flying. I got really bummed earlier this year about the whole FAA thing and then my wife was in a horrible car accident. She's doing super duper now and I have been itching for the past week to fly. I flew two packs on my LarvaX and two on my Tyro129. I absolutely love the larvaX. It's just so darn cute. But my fav is my Tyro129. I'm not out to fly like rotor riot. I like a calm and enjoyable flight. Today was the first day I flew that quad (hate saying drone) around the property in places I have never had the ba....guts to go. Nearly clipped a 13kv power line twice though...LOL!!!

Hey Jared. Glad to here that the wife is doing well. Good to know you got back into flying your kwad. There not drones. You need to get back into flying your helis again before they start rusting away like Tony's helis lmao.

The thing with mine is I don't have anyone that can physically show me how to get it set up. After the last crash I had to replace several items including two servos and a linkage. I may try it again with a fresh outlook on it but don't have high hopes.

I have the AR7200BX/AR7300BX and the micro beast plus, that I purchased from Tony that I'm getting ready to install on my 450. If you like, I'll do my best to help you out :). For the time being here's a video that Tony made. Remember BeastX, Microbeast and the AR7200bx/AR7300BX are basically the same FBL unit. I also use these video too. 3 part video I hope helps. I'm here to help too...If I can :).

My issue really is the mechanical part. Physically setting it up. I don't think I got it right last time. I tried to hover it and it wanted to do some crazy stuff just sitting there so I killed it and hung it on the wall.

I have quite a few videos on how to setup the head of a helicopter. If you need 1:1 help, just let me know and we will work it out.

I sent an email to Horizon Hobby and they replied with a video on how to set up the FC6250HX on a 500 size heli. All I wanted is to know what the factory settings are on the AR7210BX that comes on the 270 CFX. Surely there is someone who knows. @Tony I'm not real good at this stuff so I may have mucked up the FBL unit's settings. I learned from the VX140 I got from you to BACK IT UP before JACKIN' IT UP!!!! So with that said, maybe I did get it right the first time and my issue is operator error.

I KNOW!!!!! I can take a video of what it is doing and post it here!!!!

Also to know about the AR7210BX that comes with the 270 is part of it is locked out. You can't change some settings. You can pay to have them unlocked but then you lose SAFE recovery. Then you have to pay more to get SAFE put back on it. Then you want to have a stiff drink.

Yea, I don't like the way they make you pay for what is in there. And it is way over priced for what you get.... One of the worst things about the RTF's that they are putting out.... Or put out....

If your interested in getting rid of the AR7210BX or looking to trade...touch base with me.

Hi guys!
Hey did anyone check out the Geminid Meteor Shower?
Bro Tom and I did. At first we thought the weather was going to screw us. But at the last minute, it cleared up completely and stayed that way all night long.

Of course that was not here in Haiku where we live. Oh heavens no. We went to our own area 51 on the other side of the island. Here in Haiku, it was raining and cloudy and we would've missed everything if we stayed here.

This year there was no moon and with great weather, (on the other side of the island) we scored 368 colorful Geminids! NICE!!! Thanks Ort for this nice shot from Kapalei a night earlier... Geminid 2020.jpg

Roofs develop holes enough over time, I'm not sure wearing cleats is going to help with that issue. There are a lot of tennis shoe styles with aggressive treads that would probably make more sense and not damage a roof like a cleat would. I daily wear a Merrell moc primarily made to be used after a person is getting out of their snow ski's while still in the snow. The moc style makes putting on and taking off ( while wearing gloves ) easy and the aggressive pattern grips pretty good in most situations. They also have other styles like those for jungle use etc. The look of the shoe is classy and not as sneaker looking as most and being a moc, it's easy to get on and not have to deal with shoestrings. Of course I've seen other brands of this style, this is just the one I'm familiar with and can recommend as sturdy, good looking for daily use and has good support with a replaceable arch support.

Hi Randy, This cut in post is because I couldn't figure out any other way to contact yah.. I need to get some help. I was hoping you can help me get back the NWS Doppler Radar scans. All of a sudden I can't get the NOAA site to work and I'm kind of blind; if you know what I mean.. What the devil happened to the NOAA site??
Thanks buddy, I figured you would know all about it.............

I'm not having trouble getting any of the radar feeds here but that doesn't mean they weren't down earlier... or perhaps it's just the specific website you are using that is having technical issues. In any case... if a specific radar or just a website is down your only option is to use another one until it is up again. There is nothing you or I can do about something outside of our own direct control. In addition, the government also has to take down certain radar sites for general maintenance or upgrades from time to time. Sometimes that means those sites are down for extended periods... again the only option is to use an alternate radar until it is returned to service.

When this happens... a google search should give you a selection of alternate websites you can choose from ( example Accuweather as one )... Sometimes local TV stations will have purchased their own radar and you can use their websites to access their radar if your other radars are down for other reasons.

Here is a site with a composite of all Hawaii radars or you can select individual ones .... Hawaii Weather Radars

Thanks buddy for the tips.. I'll start to check them out and see what happens.. The same thing happened to the NOAA satellite imagery site. But after a little work I found some nice new stuff.. I think we all have a bunch of new weather satellites in service. Once again I need to learn how to read all the new bands..

The "new" satellites have been up for a while now, I think the latest was placed in 2018. These are the GOES-R versions with GOES-16 ( East ) and GOES-17 ( West ) being the latest two. The previous generation I believe have either been retired or dropped back to backup status after the GOES-15 starting having problems.

Hey Randy, after looking at the new radar from NOAA; I think it sucks!
There's no control on anything. Crap ola! Typical liberal government operation; GO BACKWARDS!!!
I doubt we got what was paid for! What A rip!!

I have no idea what website you are looking at and NOAA and the NWS have several that include radar information... most websites ( government or independent ) that have radar don't also have any controls to speak of other than which radar product they are showing. In fact, the term "control" would be an exaggeration probably, selection of options is probably a more accurate description.

I'm not sure if the following URL's will work here if not ( and if you can see the full url ) copy paste them into your browser to see them. I've already selected either Hawaii as a whole on the mosaic selection... and the PMHO radar for the single site radar both using a dark background. The single site provides the most radar products to select from, the mosaic only a few since it's really a combined set that joins all radar site data into one. A mosaic will always be less accurate since it's using an algorithm to combine data. I don't see the loop option on these for what that is worth.

Single site PMHO ( you can click on the blue dots to select from the other radar sites in the area )
