No, it was just tight. The wheel was down full on the splines and it took a lot to pry it off the servo, even with the screw out.
 
This is interesting. I have never seen a servo horn spin like that. You must have had some heavy pressure on that thing.
 
Got the new landing gear today. Ready for the second flight, when the wind stops.

Well it was a non starter. Went to spool up and no power. The pinion had come loose. I put locktite on the motor shaft and locktite on the grub screw, and it still came loose.

No flat spot on the motor pinion?
 
No, Seems silly for such a powerful motor not to have a flat spot. I will make one tomorrow.
 
I wish I had an answer. When I used my 14t align pinion it would stop at the right spot on the shaft. There was something in the pinion that would hold it in place so it would not slip down.
 
Yup, easy and safe mod that will prevent this. But I"m wondering about you saying "No Power". Is the ESC not even working now?
 
The no power was just related to the fact that the pinion was turning but the blades weren't getting any fast. I held the main blades, spooled up and the pinion was just spinning. Fixing it now. :)
 
Ah okay. Just still wondering why it lost power in the first place. Still worries me even though it's not my heli lol.
 
It could be that the pinion slipped as i punched it inverted. My first flight today will be a cautious one :)
 
I ground a flat spot on the motor. Its ready to go but its blowing 40MPH now, so we'll have to wait. I ordered a Castle Creations Pro BEC as well just to be safe.
