    Hover Training Video

Phil, she looks very stable, nice consistent headspeed no too. The stabilisation on the Spirit obviously works very well, i've not tried it on mine.

    Flying today.

If the plane was undamaged then it's a good landing! Landing while flying toward yourself is a bit more difficult when you are learning. With a nice long landing strip like you have there you might have better luck making the turn to final not so far down wind, and as you descent to touchdown...

600 Uri's Big bird build journal

The rule of thumb for governor use is 85% is the maximum that you can go to and still have enough 'overhead' to maintain constant headspeed under load and/or when the battery runs down. Given that you appear to be close to the maximum governable speed 2100-2200RPM seems kinda low. The manual...

600 Uri's Big bird build journal

The 'pucker factor' of a big heli soon wears off, trust me. Once it does you will find that they are so much easier to fly, kinda like flying via slow motion replay compared to a smaller heli. They give you so much more time to think.

450 Does the 360 CFX fit in this group? Or is it a 500 class helicopter?

The 360CFX as the name suggests has 360mm length blades, therefore the 300-400mm forum is the correct place to put it. Blade length is gradually becoming the universally accepted standard for classifying helicopter size. Rotor diameter is something altogether different, while it could be...

    Spektrum My X3 settings disappeared

With Spektrum's 'Model Match' if you attempt to use a memory in the Tx that is not the correct one for the model then basically nothing happens. The Tx doesn't talk to the receiver so the model will just sit their unresponsive. The Tx doesn't shout at you or anything, basically 'nothing...

600 Uri's Big bird build journal

Goblins often get a bit wobbly at lower head speed. On the 630 much below 2000RPM tends to 'nod'. This is a result of the very firm head damping which is optimised for higher RPM and aggressive flying. I'm not sure what the critical RPM will be for the 570 but as a general rule the smaller the...

Congratulations on the maiden, she seemed to be working nicely. PS.. I thought the video was good. I like the way you do the intro with the black and white video of setting the heli up as a background. I may shamelessly copy that style if you have no objection?

FBL Gyro T-Rex maiden with Spirit Pro (at last!)

The parts are going nowhere so just give me a shout if you need them.

FBL Gyro T-Rex maiden with Spirit Pro (at last!)

Phil, I did a 'stretch' on my 600 pro using cut down trex 700 parts, so i must still have the stock 600 boom, torque tube and tail control pushrod laying around somewhere. Just drop me a PM if you can use it, yours for the cost of the post.

HobbyEagle A3 Super II flight stabiliser

The Hobbyeagle is the way to go Tony. they are a little quirky to set up but I can give you a few tips based on what i've learned.

    Flying today.

Thanks Rodney, D.O.G> The Dune is flying really well now. Ever since I had the Dune I was struggling to get rid of a slight vibration in the tail and a small 'wag' in the tail too. Between the rebuild, taking extra care to get all the meshing and alignment spot on, and the new ESC she's now...

HobbyEagle A3 Super II flight stabiliser

Tony, No not yet. I ordered one for my ExtremeFlight Edge 540 but it went missing in shipping, so I'll have to order another. I'm sure it will work just as well in a balsa plane, plenty of others have used them that way.

FBL Gyro T-Rex maiden with Spirit Pro (at last!)

Phil, Great that you are getting your setup fine tuned. I find there is a bit of 'playing around' with most new heli builds to get them working just how you want them. So I'm reading it that your ESC throttle range wasn't calibrated, if so yes, that would screw up the % throttle values that you...

    Flying today.

Here's a pic and video from today's flying, i just took helis out today: The Dune has just undergone maintenance and fitting of a new Hobbywing ESC and Gryphon HV BEC, so I was looking forward to flying her again: https://youtu.be/Ni6_5QhHntM

600 Uri's Big bird build journal

Yeah, good call on the tail speed-up pulley. i have one fitted to both the 770 and the 630. The standard pulley tends to be optimised for running hardcore 3D headspeeds. Not something you need to do right away though because the tail hold will be fine for sport flying even with the stock pulley...

600 Uri's Big bird build journal

Uri, You could easily go down a tooth on the motor pulley and drop your headspeeds a shade. You will get longer flights and headspeed will still be plenty for all but the hardest hardcore 3D. But see what you think when you get her in the air.

    I didn't have a clue

Good luck with your quads. I'm not sure of those specific models but often you have different stability modes available and on the most stable setting the quad should pretty much fly itself. The problem i find with quads if orientation because from any distance the front looks just like the back...

    Batteries Lipo battery restriction

Luckily here in the UK we are on 240V, so a standard 15A outlet will do 3600W... But yeah, I've still managed to trip the breaker a couple of times:redface:

    Batteries Lipo battery restriction

The lights in the neighborhood dim when i charge. I've got two DPS PB600's powering my little charger and a 2950W 50V HP ESP120 powering the ICharger 4010 Duo:evil:
