600 Uri's Big bird build journal

FWIW here's my Dune 600. The video into says 3000mAh batteries, but I fly the same time on either 2700 or 3000mAh. This flight was 6 minutes: So you should have no trouble at all getting well over 5 minutes out of the 570.

600 Uri's Big bird build journal

I'd be surprised if you can't easily do 5 minutes or more but a lot depends on what headspeed you run. The nearest examples I have are my Dune 600 and Trex 600 Pro. I fly them on 2700mAh or 3000mAh 12s packs and they both easily exceed 5 minutes on either size of pack, and I think they are both...

600 Uri's Big bird build journal

Sounds like you are making a very nice job of the build. Personally I'm too lazy to shorten servo leads, i just fold them if they are too long. The goblins tend to have plenty of space to tuck a bit of extra cable away so as not to be too unsightly... But I admire those who want to make that...

    General Delta Ray issue

That's exceptional service! Please report back when you have the new board installed and get the plane in the air.

    General Delta Ray issue

I've been using the 'HobbyEagle A3 Super II'.. It has a self leveling function similar to SAFE, as well as some other neat features. Having said that i agree with Tony. The Delta ray is so stable that it will virtually fly itself even with SAFE turned off, so I'd question the need for any...

    General Delta Ray issue

Tony is right, the Delta Ray uses a 'unique' all in one controller unit that features receiver with 'SAFE' and dual (brushed) ESC's all built in. To replace it you either need to shell out the crazy price for a new one or replace the receiver, two ESC's and motors for alternatives. Theoretically...

    sg motors

Whereabouts in the UK are you SG? With a bit of luck the weather will improve soon and you can get those helis back in the air again.

Spektrum Is DX9 technology better than DX6?

It's covered all in the manual. The general principal is that you put the transmitter into range check mode (read manual for how) which reduces transmitting power. You then walk away 30 paces and see if you still have full control. If control becomes erratic or is lost before 30 paces then you...

General 3GX - Tail shutter starts while flying

You are right, the tail shake is almost certainly gain too high. For the tail blowout you might want to run higher headspeed. You will have to reduce gain more when you increase headspeed but it will make ultimate holding power of the tail better.

    Why I Can't Fly Today

The problem here is it's not just a sudden violent storm. It varies between hail and snow and rain (mostly rain) with occasional sunny spells thrown in but with a near constant unrelenting wind, and it goes on that way for days and weeks and months on end. There is hardly any difference between...

    Why I Can't Fly Today

So this is my 'flying weather' here in Aberdeen UK, my garden to be exact! (the chairs were blown over by the howling wind) The girl's voice in my youngest daughter! https://youtu.be/le51FwWXXqg

    Power Supply's Align RCE-BL70G Set-up

Phil, Having the red wire disconnected won't stop the ESC from programming. The Tx needs to be powered up first and throttle put at max, throttle hold must be disabled so that the transmitter is sending out a full throttle signal. You then power the receiver/FBL powered via it's own battery...

FBL Gyro T-Rex maiden with Spirit Pro (at last!)

Phil, If it works for you then all is good!.. Shame we weren't closer together so we could compare setups in person. What might be worth trying is programming some slightly different curves, as per previous suggestions, on other flight modes so you can quickly switch between them and see what...

    Other Taranis plus

You might be right, but it just seemed like a lot of hard work to learn the Open Tx programming when i could do the same thing in Spektrum in moments without any effort. It's interesting that the artical on how to setup a heli in Open Tx begins with these words: That's enough to put me off! On...

    Other Taranis plus

ok, I found the cause of your problems. The pre set for helicopters hasn't been implemented in the Open Source firmware yet (and probably never will be by the sound of it). The 'button' for the heli pre-set is therefore non-functional. You have to set it all up from scratch. Here's a post i...

    Other Taranis plus

I wish i could be of some help. I did have a Taranis for a few months but i found the programming pretty baffling after coming from Spektrum so i sold it. I know many people do fly helis with the Taranis so it is possible to select heli, but what the trick is I can't tell you, sorry.

    ESC My HW ESC

The governor should really cause the ESC to get any hotter than the same headspeed 'non-governed' would do, especially if all you were doing was hovering. What % throttle curve have you got it flying at and what PWM frequency have you got set? (higher PWM works the ESC harder) A 'real'...

    ESC My HW ESC

It's counter intuitive but if you were running low governor % for a low headspeed and just hovering at low load then that actually puts more load on the ESC than running flat out does. Are you using the fan that comes with the ESC?
