    General Microbeast Gyro

Uri, There are a few 6 channel options with the Spirit, but I cant speak from experience of the Microbeast. With the spirit you can gave the gear channel controlling tail gain AND activating rescue, switches are configurable so you can map whatever switches you want to activate these...

    Spektrum Broken DX6 help question

I replaced one of the switched on my DX18 using a Futaba momentary switch, it was externally identical, to look at you cant tell the difference. I found the switch on eBay. It was a easy enough mod if you are comfortable soldering tiny wires to tiny pins.

    Batteries Battery Resurrection

The one registering zero volts is toast if it's been that way for a while. The one with 2V per cell might be recoverable as long as there is no puffing (if it's puffed ditch it). The way to recover an over discharged lipo is to set the charger to NiCd/NiMh battery type and charge at very low...

Trex 600 and Goblin 630 this weekend

I got about 16 flights in this weekend with most of my helis feeling air under their blades. Here are a couple of videos, nothing very exiting I'm afraid: My much modified Trex 600 Pro: And the Goblin 630 Comp: Both were flying well though on this flight the tail gain is a bit high...

    Lost orientation

Sorry to hear of the crash. It's so easy to loose orientation in poor light, even in the middle of the day if there is thick cloud it can be bad.

    General Microbeast Gyro

Uri, You can activate rescue/stability AND adjust tail gain from the gyro channel (at least with the Spirit and it sounds like the Microbeast is the same). Positive gain values turn stability/rescue off and negative turn it on, so you can do two functions from one channel. What you cant do with...

    General Microbeast Gyro

Sounds like it works the same as the Spirit that I have on my Goblin 630. With stabilisation enabled negative tail gain values activate the self leveling (or rescue). On the Spirit the best way to do it is by using a mix that reverses the gain from positive to negative but retains the same...

    Who's Into Saltwater?

I have a couple of tropical tanks but deliberately stay clear of marines. My father used to have a marine tank and it was very frustrating and expensive. Things have probably moved on because this was a long time ago but I'm sure it still takes a lot of commitment.

    450 Gyro, what to choose.

You can use a sat wired direct to the Microbeast but you need a sat adapter cable because unlike most other FBL controllers the Microbeast doesnt have and dedicated satellite ports. A single line receiver is a good option too. I hope the build goes smoothly.

    Micro 180CFX Msiden and crash

This was just a minor hiccup compared to Uri's crash. Damage was light, hitting throttle hold probably helped but Blade parts aren't the cheapest and even for a light crash the part cost adds up surprisingly quickly.

    Micro 180CFX Msiden and crash

More 180 woes today. It was flying fine, then on the third flight for no reason I lose the tail and it starts spinning. i hit throttle hold which stopped the spin but micros auto like a bunch of keys, so down it came with quite a thump. It landed tail first so the boom and tail shaft took the...

600 Uri's Big bird build journal

What a nightmare:frown: It's hard to figure from the video just what went wrong but could the auto landing have damaged the tail blades or belt or the linkage? it did look like the tail dug in a bit. I hope it's all fixed up and back in the air soon.

    New member from Denmark

Hi Benjamin, I thought it might have been Denmark, but with a missing 'k':D. I've been over to Copenhagen a couple of times, it seemed like a really nice city. I work for Maersk so know lots of Danes. I'm sure you will love the 450L. The bigger the heli the easier they are to fly, which...

    450 Gyro, what to choose.

Thanks, The weather forecast looks like perfect flying conditions so hopefully i will have a good weekend! Please give us a build and flight report once you get the 450L. ... By the way, where is 'Denmar' ?

    450 Gyro, what to choose.

Questions are good! I'd bite their hands off for the Microbeast upgrade. You are correct in that you will need a DSMX receiver, preferably one that supports single line output. The 'official' Spektrum offering is the AR7700: https://www.spektrumrc.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=SPMAR7700...

    450 Gyro, what to choose.

If they are the same price then the 6s version with the Gpro would be the one to go for, no question. The 6s version of the 450L has a number of upgrades including bigger (360mm) blades and better servos. I think the Gpro worked pretty well and it has decent intuitive software (unlike the 3GX)...

    450 Gyro, what to choose.

Hi Benjamin, welcome to the forum, FBL technology is moving rapidly. The 3GX was discontinued some time ago and replaced by the Gpro, but that too is now discontinued. On all of Align's new 'super combos' the Beastx Microbeast is included (which is a nice controller but pricey if you buy it...

    450 X# flies again

Uri, I think you said you were running 4s?.. In that case the problem might be your 3500Kv motor and/or pinion size. 3500Kv is what's recommended for 3s so if running 4s you would have to gear down quite a bit. I think the stock pinion is 12t (?) so in that case you would want to go down to a 9...

    450 X# flies again

Mine is the older 50A V3.. I'm guessing you have the new 60A V4?. The V4 should run cooler because it has active freewheel. I think they locked the PWM on the V4 because there isn't really any point in changing it. As I understand it as high as the ESC supports is the best setting in almost all...
