FBL Gyro Fine Tuning with Spirit Pro

Phil, I'm not sure where they came from to be honest. They might be swash links off a Thunder Tiger X50e but I'm not sure. But if you are looking for ball links in the future Quick UK is a good source: http://www.quickuk.eu/cat/general_parts/control_balls___links.html

FBL Gyro Fine Tuning with Spirit Pro

I have some that are 17mm shank length and the same thread and ball size. One might be all you need but I'll put a couple in the post just in case. Hopefully a regular envelope will get past your over zealous customs squad.

FBL Gyro Fine Tuning with Spirit Pro

If you can measure the overall length of the links i can easily check if i have some a bit longer.. That could (assuming I have some longer ball links) easily give you the 6mm that you are looking for without the need to start modifying the servo position.

FBL Gyro Fine Tuning with Spirit Pro

Phil, If it were me I'd get the servo centred mechanically before using so much sub trim. You should be able to get hold of longer ball links if you need to increase the length of the rod. The servo arm should be at 90 degrees to the rod when the tail is centred (with just a touch of pitch to...

    600 Align Model Numbering

Phil, It varies between brands but if you are looking only at Align helis then the 550 and 600 share a lot of components. For instance the complete head assembly, most of the drivetrain, complete tail assembly, servos, FBL, landing gear and a host of other minor stuff are shared between the two...

    Batteries zop batterys

The cell that was reading 1.7V is dead, you are wasting your time trying to recover it to be honest. Low cell recovery sometimes works after you over discharge a battery during flight and it's been at low voltage for only a short time, but a battery that comes 'new' with a very low cell...

    450 450 wont spool up

If you still have problems after calibrating the ESC throttle range then it sounds like a bad battery. If either the battery is not fully charged or if it's old and tired or faulty then it will cause exactly this type of behavior. Often with an old/tired battery you will see some 'puffing' as...

    600 My T-Rex 550 Rebuild

Looking good Phil, she looked a bit twitchy at the start but maybe that was just nerves after not flying for a while? I hope your weather holds out for long enough for you to get some more flights in.

    Awesome deal!!!

Nice find. There is a baffling choice of these 'GoPro clone' action cams around these days. Another option for those looking for 4k resolution and inbuilt gyro stabilised image (ideal if you use as a head cam and want the shakes reduced) is the new Firefly 7S...

    General Blade balancing

Depends what type of blade you were working with. With wood blades they are solid, so you could sand/clip some off. Carbon blades on the other hand have a very thin skin over a foam or hollow core. Anyone who has ever broke a carbon blade will have seen this first hand. So if you sanded/clipped...

    General Blade balancing

If you need to add weight to the tip you can drill a small hole from the bottom surface just in from the tip and put some lead shot in there, glued with epoxy. Smooth the epoxy off and put a blob of paint on and you would hardly know. This is only safe at the tip though, you dont want to go...

    600 Align Model Numbering

They are quite different helis. The 550L has totally new frames with completely different layout, plus all the electronics are different (servos, ESC., motor etc). ... So really you could never make them 'match'.

    600 Align Model Numbering

Between 600 and 550, your call. The 550 is the more modern design and you do get to reuse your existing batteries, so probably the sensible choice. But i have a soft spot for the 600, i really like mine (though it's only half original these days). Here is my much modified 600 flying yesterday:

    700 T-Trex 700 Almost Takes a Dirt Nap

Yep, he's some flyer! Sounded like a stripped main gear at the end? The Trex 700e has been known to strip gears when flown very hard. The brand new Trex 700X has a beefed up gear.

    600 Align Model Numbering

The Align product codes are very confusing for sure. They not only have different codes for different versions (and a new version every year) but also different codes for different kit types (if they are basic kits or 'combos'). That being said you can usually pick up the differences easily...

FBL Gyro Bailout and Autolevel - MSH Brain

DSM2 sats support 8 channels. When the DX8 transmitter was first introduced they worked in DSM2 only (with DSM2 receivers and sats) and all 8 channels worked.

Hello new here and to rc Helicopters.

Yeah, getting the shakes after flying is normal when you start out! It's unusual for the blades to be so badly out of balance that you get noticable vibration, but worth checking the balance for sure. i dont use the AR7210 so i'm afraid I cant be of much help with the specifics of setting it up...

Hello new here and to rc Helicopters.

Looks like you have done your homework! 'Auto level' would usually be 'on' all the time when you are learning. Possibly you could set up two different flight modes selectable from your flight mode switch one with auto level enabled and one with it disabled, but it will probably be a while...

Hello new here and to rc Helicopters.

Nice setup wacey. If you are new to helis it might be worth investing in the 'SAFE' firmware upgrade for your AR7210 to give you the self leveling stability function, along with 'rescue'. Self leveling is a game changer for beginners and 'rescue' is useful no matter how experienced you are.
