FBL Gyro 2 potentiometer pots on 3Gx?

The range marked on both pots is 0-100 (the markings are a bit confusing). They represent cyclic gain and you would normally have them each adjusted to the same value. When i had 3GX gyros I always started off with them in the middle '12 o'clock' position. Adjustment works in much the same way...

    FB Gyro Msh

If the travel isn't precisely equal, and he's checked his mechanical setup then you can fine tune by adjusting the collective travel in the Tx end point adjustment screen. If he later wants to set unequal +/- travel then you would do that with pitch curves.

    250 Goblin fireball build

Thanks for the slideshow. I've heard a few guys on other forums having issues with wag on the tail. I'll be interested in hearing your thoughts on the heli after you have a few flights under the belt. It's a really interesting design. Too small for me though, I've given up on anything smaller...

General How to set throttle curve expo in DX7?

The 'expo' you see in the pitch and throttle curve is something different to expo in aileron/elevator and rudder. All the expo does on the pitch and throttle curve is make the curve a smooth curved line between the point you set. Without Expo the 'curve' is just a series of straight lines...

Quad A rebuild and some esc questions

Most likely battery voltage dropping under high load and triggering the Low Voltage Cut-out (LVC). Easiest fix is to lower the value that LVC is set at in the ESC's. It could be a symptom that your battery isn't up to the job but lower LVC will help in any case.

Chargers PSU for high wattage charger

The DPS 600PB that Tony used ion his video are good options, they are readily available on eBay and very cheap (about $20) and a single one has more power than you need. You only would want one which makes modification much easier. In fact when using a single DPS600PB there is no modification...

Inactive User Email, Did You Receive One?

Hi Tony, Yes, the email came through. i've forwarded it on as requested. No need to apologise, i get a lot worse emails every day!

450 STD Flight Set Up Help

yes, as Tony said, set up zero pitch at mid stick with a 0,25,50,75,100 linear pitch curve. Once set up you can adjust the pitch curve in the Tx to give the characteristics you want but for setup keep it simple. Even when starting out you would generally want a pitch curve that gives you some...

450 Spektrum AR8000 Rx Not for Heli?

+1.. the ESC has to go to the throttle connection, that's without doubt your problem. The bind/data port doesnt give any channel output so the ESC isn't receiving any signal.

450 Spektrum AR8000 Rx Not for Heli?

A few things to check: Is the throttle plug the correct way around? Are you sure that you calibrated the throttle correctly? Did you get the arming tones at the end of the calibration process? Is there any movement at all from the motor (twitching or pulsing)? Photos of your wiring may be helpful

450 Spektrum AR8000 Rx Not for Heli?

No, that's nonsense. The only 'issue' with the AR8000 is that it doesnt support single line output like some of the latest receivers do, so on a flybarless heli you would have to wire it conventionally with a wire for each channel (no big deal). I've personally used an AR8000 on a heli as have...

FBL Gyro Spirit pro, integration with Spektrum!

FBL Gyro Spirit pro, integration with Spektrum!

Most people thought FBL integration with Spektrum transmitters was impossible due to perceived limitations of the Spektrum RF protocol but they were obviously very much wrong because the iKon/Brain and Spirit have just released new firmware that supports Spektrum integration. You get full...

700 Trex 700X tail gear victim

Between swash levelling, balancing and head/cyclic gain you should get it nailed. Head/cyclic gain varies model to model and setup to setup so you can only really find the optimum setting by experimentation. Just try making increases, if you go too far you get nodding or wobble/shake that you...

700 Trex 700X tail gear victim

Phil, The tail shouldn't drop. If the swash is level the first thing i'd look at is balance. The 550 in particular tends to be tail heavy, more so if it's been stretched with the longer 600 boom. It must balance at the main shaft, if it's tail heavy move the battery forward, or even add nose...

    630 goblin

A full spec would be great, she sure does look nice! I've not flown my 630 in a while, i might put that right on the weekend. Mine is running the stock 2 blade head but with MScomposite 660mm blades. She goes really nicely with those blades, much better than the stock 630mm blades. It's a bit...

Batteries Discharging lipo settings for storage?

There really isnt any good reason why you would ever want to use a charger to discharge a LiPo below storage voltage (about 3.8V), except maybe prior to disposal of an old battery.

Very nice. So you fitted the KSE head and tail, what size blades are you running?

Batteries Discharging lipo settings for storage?

Jim, Yes, that's exactly what I do. The only time I'd charge them 'up' to storage is sometimes if I thought the batteries might sit unused for a long time. For week to week use I just leave them as they come off the heli. Discharging to storage is different. Leaving them fully charged for any...

Batteries Discharging lipo settings for storage?

If you are discharging to storage then your charger will almost certainly have a special 'storage' setting. The storage setting takes the battery to optimum voltage for storage which is in the 3.8-3.85V range. It will automatically charge or discharge to that voltage depending on the state of...
