General Loss of power at full throttle

I've experienced the exact same thing with the Castle Edge 120HV myself a few times. The cause is low battery voltage triggering the 'RPM Reduction Cutoff' protection feature in the ESC. The cause is usually simply that the voltage trip is set too high. By default it's 3.2V so all you usually...

    Batteries DX8 battery

Hobbyking do a LiPo for the DX8 that's much cheaper and works fine, I used to use one in my own DX8: Turnigy 4000mAh Lipo Transmitter Battery (Compatible with Spektrum DX9 DX8 DX7S Intelligent Transmitter Pack) It's very much not recommended to use a standard LiPo because the DX8 LiPo is an...

    Motors What is "motor desyncing?"

You should be fine as you are well inside the motor's rating.

    Motors What is "motor desyncing?"

It only happens under sudden acceleration/load so if you did heat the tell-tale squeal all you do is back off on power, land, and try more advanced timing on the ESC. It usually only happens when you are pushing the motor hard with a prop that's right at the limits of what the motor can spin.

    Motors What is "motor desyncing?"

I've not heard it described in precisely those terms but what I assume it means is when under heavy load the motor slips out of synchronisation with the ESC. This usually happens during fast acceleration of the motor and/or when a sudden high load is applied. Basically the motor cant produce...

have you tried increasing the gain?

450 Tail set up for mini titan 325-HELP.

So when the servo 'stops short' does it get stuck in that position or will it move back the other way if you give a stick input? If it gets 'stuck' and only moves if you give it a nudge that would indicate a burned pot on the servo. Or if it doesnt 'stick' it could it simply be that the gain is...

The battery makes no difference to throttle end point setting.

Motors Stock mini titan motor heat issue.

The Scorpion advice is rather outdated, it's based on older ESCs that wouldn't support higher PWM switching frequency. I run a few Scorpion motors and use 32KHz PWM. In fact some high end ESC's like Kontronik and the newest Hobbywing V4 dont even allow you to adjust PWM, they have it fixed at...

Motors Stock mini titan motor heat issue.

9 deg C reduction is a lot, hopefully that's the problem fixed. Just be careful when running low timing that the motor doesn't stutter or stall when rapidly advancing throttle, the motor usually makes a screeching noise if this happens so it's easily spotted. I'm amazed the higher PWM caused...

700 What is the best Speed Controller for the Trex 800.

So how do you fit those huge batteries in the heli? I have a Trex 700 which uses the same frame as the 800 and the standard 2 x 5000mAh batteries are a quite tight fit. I once ran into a guy that used a Trex 800 for aerial photography, he had a huge battery box slung under the frame, have you...

Chargers What charger should I get?

Ahh.. that makes more sense. I must lean to read! i was sure it said 3000mAh in the first post! As Tony says, for those small batteries and if you dont have any plans for anything bigger in the future the USB charger would be good enough, though it could still take over an hour to charge...

700 What is the best Speed Controller for the Trex 800.

PS... I'm surprised you can fit such massive batteries in the frame, have you got an external battery mounting system or something similar? PPS.. Tony, the C rating doesnt change, it's the same however you wire the batteries. I think lots of people get confused about this one so for the...

Chargers What charger should I get?

Maybe if you told us what you are using the battery for it would help. It seems strange to change from a big 3000mAh battery to a tiny 450mah battery? Is it for a plane, a heli or a car, or something else? But Tony's recommendation is spot on, an Imax B6AC is a good choice as long as you arent...

700 What is the best Speed Controller for the Trex 800.

My personal pick would be the Hobbywing Platinum Pro 160A V4. I have one on my KDS agile 7.2 and another in my Goblin 770, they don't even get worm in those helis. They have the best soft start and governor in the business plus a really powerful and reliable built in BEC so you can dispense with...
