    General 3gx and binding issues

If you go for the iKon or Spirit Pro that's all you need. You can use the satellite receivers that you already have, so no need for a new receiver. Do you have field equipment for starting the engine?

    General 3gx and binding issues

Jason, That shop did you no favours. The Trex 600 Nitro is a heli for advanced level flyers. If you have no RC experience then you have almost zero chance of getting it safely in the air. The only way to have a chance with that heli is by joining a club or finding an experienced flyer to give...

    General 3gx and binding issues

One end of the cable should plug into the USB dongle, the other end needs to connect to the data port on the 3GX.. If you havent got a cable to do that then you need to get one.

    General 3gx and binding issues

If you have the 3G USB link then it's wire connects into the 'data' port in the side of the 3GX unit. The plugs in your first photo look to be the correct type to go into the data port, but you need the 3G USB link 'dongle' to plug into your PC USB socket.

    General 3gx and binding issues

To set up the 3GX you need a special 3G USB link to connect it to your PC. If you dont have that then you cant set it up. As the 3GX was discontinued a few years ago but you can still buy the USB link units. They are Align part number HEP3GF02. To be honest it's more hassle than it's worth...

FBL Gyro Spirit Pro Set Up

Yeah, in the Vbar its called pre-comp.. but it's the same thing. Funny thing is that in the Vbar it's set to be active by default but in the Spirit it's turned off by default. I find it best with turned on, the amount you need varies from heli to heli but all seem to benefit from at least a...

    What THE $@#&?

As already stated, the price of manufacturing has little to do with the retail price. Basically they charge as much as they can get away with. This is true for everything, not just phones, that's free market capitalism for ya. It's the reason that cloners can come along and offer the same...

    450 Gaui X3 issues

First one sounds like you put the arms on the wrong splines. To get the arm centred you need to remove the arm, go into the part of the FBL setup where you trim the arms to be level then put the arms on the correct splines so that they are level. If the nearest spline still leaves the arm...

    700 RPM ws battery

Yes, higher RPM hits flight time hard. A smaller pinion and lower RPM should give you longer flight time (but less performance).

    700 600 vs 700

I've got a fair collection of both 600 and 700 size. There is actually a quite considerable difference in the weight and power between the two. A 600 typically weighs 2/3 of what a 700 comes in at. Having said that in flight there isn't a huge difference, they both fly like a big heli smooth and...

FBL Gyro Spirit Pro Set Up

I was fine tuning the Spirit Pro on my XL520 heli yeaterday. It was a calm day for a change so ideal for tweaking setings, when it's windy I find it can be hard to see small differences. Anyway, for the first time I played about with the 'RevoMix' setting in the advanced tab. What RevoMix does...

    Scale What went wrong

It really shouldn't loose bind just because the Tx had a flat battery, but if you do re-bind there should be no need to re-program the FBL or the ESC. With hindsight you could hear the tail belt slipping right from the get go. Morale of the story I guess is that if it doesnt sound right dont...

450 ALZRC Devil 450 Maiden Flight Video

You chould have told us it was deliberate. It looked to all the world like a perfectly executed backward loop, something I've never bad the b@lls to try!

    Chargers 250W/10A charger

Derek, A faster charge should still end up with a fully charged battery, but it depends on how you set up the charger. If the end current is set to (say) 10% of starting current then the higher the charge amps the earlier the charger will finish and the less charge you get, but you can adjust...

    Chargers 250W/10A charger

I agree with the others that if you are in the hobby for the long term it's good to get the best charger you can stretch to, but do bear in mind that you will need a suitably rated power supply to go with it, so factor that into the cost. For charging several 4S packs the 206b (or the Reaktor...

    Chargers 250W/10A charger

Bear in mind that you need to consider amp and power rating. The 106b is 10A / 250W, the 206b is 20A / 300W.. So the 'bigger' charger has double the current rating but only slightly more power. What this means in practice is that if you are charging 3S or 4S batteries the 'bigger' 206b will be...

    500 XLPower XL520 from Banggood - review

The 520 flies great. I've got 12 flights on it already but due to non stop wind I've not really got the chance to fine tune the gyro settings, but it's flying well anyway. Here's one of the test flights (video with my new Firefly 8S action cam with 'non-distortion' lens): Most larger helis...

FBL Gyro Spirit Pro 'Bank Switching'

Sorry, that was typo. I meant +/- 12.5 Deg As for 'rescue Normal' causing the motor to power down and the heli go to failsafe.. that is very much NOT what it should do. I cant offer any explanation for that other than the chance that the load on the servos when you hit rescue is overwhelming...

FBL Gyro Spirit Pro 'Bank Switching'

I have it set to 70% at the moment. I have +/- 1.5 degrees pitch range so 70% should be close to 9 degrees, give or take. The thing with rescue is you might have to use it when the heli is plummeting to earth and already low, so it's important that you have enough pitch to quickly arrest the...
