500 Flybarless Controllers with "Stability Mode" (not Auto Leveling)

Ikon2 and MSH Brain2 are 100% identical. they use the very some PC software. Only difference is the plastic case colour.

450 Issue building TREX 470LM - Elevator hits 'main shaft bearing block'

I'm not a Microbeast user but as i understand it 'setting L' is the Microbeast equivalent of cyclic ring. This is used to limit servo travel to avoid this type of binding. Also check that you havent got too much collective pitch. From memory Align recommend only +/- 11 degrees

    Micro OMP M1

None of the later batches of M1s came with hex drivers. I've had over 70 kits through my hands (I deal with OMP in the UK) and none had the hex drivers. Only the first batch supplied in early December in the USA came with the drivers. I was told by the factory that the reason for this is that...

    700 align BL850 brushless motor

Timing is as much about ESC as it is motor. Hobbywing default timing works fine with the 850MX the reason the motor doesn’t run until 50% is because the ESC is in governor mode. This normal behaviour for governor As for the spool up on aileron and elevator, that can only be because you have some...

500 Flybarless Controllers with "Stability Mode" (not Auto Leveling)

Stability mode and self levelling are the same thing. The self levelling mode of the Brain is similar to the SAFE mode of the 230S

    Spektrum Spektrun NX10

Looks good. I'm assuming that the NX series is replacing the long running DX series over Spektrum's 'mid-range' models? So DX for the budget transmitters, NX for the mid-range and IX for the high end?

    Spektrum DX8G2 New Battery?

It does sound like the LiPo is on it's way out. The DX8G2 battery has an integrated charger and charge part built in. so you cant easily use a standard Tx LiPo, you are pretty much stuck with the standard 2000mAh battery 3.3V is very low for an alarm value but equally I'd not have expected the...

General Gaui - what's going on?

That's good to hear, thanks for confirming. Perhaps the shortages of Gaui helis in dealers is due to disruptions from Covid19?

    Finally :).

what was cause of the crashes?

General Gaui - what's going on?

Anyone have some insight into what the situation is with Gaui? Last year they were selling off at 'fire-sale' prices of up to 70% discount (rarely a good sign). Now they have hardly any helis in stock, either in their main website of in local dealers: TSH GAUI Hope we aren't losing another big...

    Servos Tail servo for 550

The MS565 is a narrow band (760us)servo. It wont work properly (if at all) if you set it to 1520us. Proper setting for that servo is 760us and 560Hz It also wont work if you plug it direct into a receiver. Receivers output a 1520us center pulse. The MS565 needs to be connected to a tail gyro...

    700 Something unique

I think this is the idea. With a weight of only 2.4Kg and RPM of 1000-1500 and a fairly slow flying speed the heli wont hit the ground as hard in the event of a crash. This is quite like the 'slow flyer' indoor 3D planes it's inspired by. These planes look terribly fragile, but in reality they...

Other Low Voltage Alarm but full batteries

Randy is spot on. 3S wont necessarily increase flight time (even if you did change the motor/ESC to suit). In fact adding heavier and more powerful electronics could well reduce flight time because the plane being heavier will need more power just to fly. Just stick to the 2S battery and if you...

    700 Something unique

There are loads of really nice 700 size helis on the market today, but I decided I wanted to try something genuinely different, a 700 heli that breaks all the 'rules'. This is it: It's a Henseleit TDSF. The 'SF' stands for 'slow flyer'. It's inspired by super lightweight 3D slow flyer planes...

    700 Have a rookie question?

Personally I'd swap out the Microbeast too. There is nothing really 'wrong' with them, they can fly very well, but the iKon2/Brain2 is a far more up to date system with none of the quirkiness of the Microbeast.
  19. Smoggie

Other Low Voltage Alarm but full batteries

You cant just swap to a 3S battery. By going from 2S to 3S (and using the same prop) then motor current (amps) will roughly treble which will almost certainly burn out the motor and/or ESC. Add to that the battery will be double the weight which will upset the balance of the plane and make it...

    500 excessive insulation Clarence

I don't think we really disagree. I also generally tell people not to cut the wires, but there are circumstances where a 'slight trim' is acceptable, as long as the solder termination is retained, as I tried to explain. For sure though, if there is any doubt or you aren't 100% confident, do not...
