I never heard of velvet ant either . I don't think they have them here in FLA, I could be wrong but I never seen one my self. It does look like a mean little booger. Cow killer huh. The only cow killers here are the homeless people Lol. Shoot, there're killing horses for the meat too. I'm not sure but I think the hanging law is still in effect...if they get cault.

In other computer hardware news...

In an attempt to head off AMD's new 5600 XT which released today for $280 and was meant to one up nVidia's GTX 1660 Ti... So the other day, nVidia dropped the price on their standard RTX 2060 ( not the Super version ) to $300 in an attempt to take some of the wind out of AMD's sales for the 5600 XT.

AMD responded by quickly making a new firmware update to increase the clocks and ram speeds. This resulted in a product that not only competed with the RTX 2060 directly, but in many of the benchmarks, even beating the 2060 by a few percentage points. In fact, it even competes a little with AMD's own 5700 card except in the amount of VRAM available ( 6Gb on the 5600 XT vs the 8Gb on the 5700 ).

I hope that AMD doesn't quit there... I'd love to see a firmware update for my 5700 XT that I have. Currently it is in the RTX 2070 / RTX 2070 Super class. Currently it benches a little under the 2070 Super on average.

I need to learn more about computers because I have no idea what all that stuff is...

Anyway I was filling up the radiator after replacement today along with many rusted out bolts. This Honda has a bleeder nipple for the cooling system. As I was loosening it to open it up, the housing striped out, DOE!! I hope the dealer has it or I'm up "S" creek...

I mentioned earlier that Honda bodies are much better rust resistive than they used to be but the hardware leaves a lot to be desired.. When the threads on the bolts rust, the rust transfers to the bodies threads and then,, Huston we have a problem... I hate the rust problem here, it destroys metal like crazy! I have galvanized nails that face the trade winds and were counter sunk into the wood and puttied, primed and painted and the heads are still swollen with rust..

I was hoping I could get on to the power steering pump but noooooooo………

Holy crap batman, I'm freezing my butt off. Yesterday 32 degrees and today 30 degrees with wind chill feels like 25 degrees. I know other places are worse but this is cold for Florida. I don't like it BURRRR! .

They are also have problem with the Pythons down south...big time. They even have a school on how to catch them. They pay big bucks, by the foot to catch them. LMAO.

Rob, yea they sting, just like others in the same order. I took several entomology classes in college and have a decent bug collection.

Does that make me a nerd? BTW the biters are mosquitoes, biting flies. Some beetles will pinch/bite as well.

Yeah the reason I asked about the biting thing is because most people think that centipedes sting rather than bite. They think the two long claws in the back do the stinging but in fact the business end of it is in the front. If the Velvet Ant is classified as a wasp, yup it's a stinger...

Oh man after I saw this picture I DID have nightmares! It came out of a tree branch and was chasing me. It was gaining on me when I woke up yelping, LOL...…

That Iguana thing is a trip! Fire up the smoker... Yeah last night it dropped down to a brutal 63 degs.. BURRR,, ha!
