What Did You Do Today???

After getting that nice big check for the work on the spreadsheet project...

Today I splurged big time... Some for myself and some for work...

Ordered a new 27" LCD Monitor for the house.... two SSD's ( one for work and one for home ) since I'm almost out of space on my primary drives. Finally got a decently powered ( still a small ) 1.1 cu ft. 1100w microwave oven ( now I can reheat my coffee faster than I can brew a new pot ) for my coffee and lunches at work.

I still need to schedule some overdo maintenance for my Ford Escape and there's probably a few other minor things I need but have put off since they weren't urgent enough to address.

It was also nice to catch up on a couple of overdue bills... and estimated personal income tax to boot... :)

Reheated coffee :puke:

That stuff is just flat and has no body. I would rather toss hour old coffee down the drain and make a new pot rather than reheat it in the microwave. Then there is the wonder that is the foam that appears on top of reheated coffee...... Yea, disgusting lmao.

You forget that I've had to switch to unleaded ( decaf ).... so it wasn't that great when it was fresh .... LMAO

I didn't know you switched... When I came to your office, we had the good stuff! lmao.

I may have stretched the truth some on that... at the office I do have regular... but that wasn't as fun to joke around with...

At home I had to switch because I don't stop drinking it and I was having trouble sleeping good...

Today I got in a 525Gb M.2 SSD and a 1050Gb M.2 SSD ... the 525Gb got installed in my work computer and Win10 installed fresh along with the required software I needed for work ( Quickbooks, MS Office and various disk recovery and other util programs etc ). The 1050Gb is for the house... which, given time, I'm hoping to get started on tomorrow. I've got a ton more software to install on the house system since I do a lot more there. In the mean time, I did switch out my old 22" LCD for a new 27" at the house.... makin' for a fun evening... :D

What, no more lappy hooked up to a monitor at the office? lmao.

I have been wanting to build a new computer just because of the M.2 drives. Put a 1TB in there, no drive bays needed and setup a NAS over a 10GB connection... Oh, one can dream can't we lmao.

The laptop has never been my main PC at work... the main PC is over on the workbench ( behind the monitor you saw over there ). I do often remote from the laptop over to the main PC though... just too lazy to get up and walk 5 foot... LMAO

My old systems don't support M.2 natively.... so I got M.2 to 2.5" drive adapters. This did limit me to using the NGFF type of M.2 SSDs ... I got the Crucial MX300 3D NAND series ones. The PCIe and NVMe can be a lot faster but as it is ... the 530/510Mb/s were a huge jump in performance anyways.

I was going to suggest the pcie adapter for a little more speed rather than running it over sata. I'm not sure what my speed is on my 1TB ssd that I have now (Samsung 850 Pro and Samsung 850 Evo), but it's better than two 7200rpm disks in raid lmao. But I seriously need a new computer, especially once this new update comes out on the new Intel issues. I think my cpu is one of them that is going to lose 20-30%. Which is going to suck for rendering videos..... But, I just ordered a new block and all I need is a water pump and I'm going to put this computer under water. Then put a 1ghz OC on it. See where that gets me. But still, with that OC, if I'm hit for the max, I will be right back to stock speeds.... theoretically speaking that is.

Well, just made an order for 20 feet of 22 AWG wire... At $0.37 a foot, I can't complain!

So I just received a call from the company that I ordered the wire through and they only had 13 feet of the black 22 AWG wire. That is unfortunate. So I told them to just send me 10 feet of the black, and change it up to 5 feet of white and 5 feet of red. Too bad they don't have blue!

You know that the two bugs they just found affect Apple as well, right? lmao.

I will say this though, for video editing and the like, you can't beat Apple. But for ease of use and customizability, Windows is where it's at.

I didn`t realize we were here to slam each other, but it`s ok. If you had the friggin` problem with windows that I have had lately...maybe you`d try something different too. Try losing 2000+ (yes...2000+) photos because windows updated and reset my whole F-ing computer back to factory settings. So there ya have it.

I promise you Geena, I was not trying to slam you in any way. Just giving you a bit of a hard time with the classic mac vs windows dispute. Now that I know why you updated (and if I had known, I would not have given you a hard time I can assure you) I can't say that I blame you. I didn't mean to upset you.
