I got everything really quickly Keith, except the ESCs. They were on backorder, but it didn't tell me that until i had payed for them?? Anyway, if all goes well monday/tueday should be the maiden.
I found a shop here in Spain specialising in Multirotor stuff. Ordered the props on Monday morning and they arrived Tuesday lunchtime Now thats the sort of time frame i love.
And they are only $6 a prop from the shop here compared to $11 i think everywhere else. I think the APCs are great for hovering but the Graupners are better at speed. I had a mishap this morning and hit a post on landing. No damage to the prop at all.
My friend Inaki loved my quad when he saw it. So much so, he bought one the next day. Well today was the maiden. All went really well. He has the NAZA unit with GPS which made things very easy for him, not being a heli pilot. We got some good footage from the go pros as i flew around him while he hovered. I'll put it up once i get everything together. Heres a pic. The smiles say it all.
Now I can't wait to see the footage! Lol I got my NAZA today. Hope to get her all setup saterday. You will have to give me some tips on how to set it up. I still have to find out what's going on with my one motor. I'm hoping it's just the esc I've got one coming. Crossing my fingers that it works.
Gaba, all my latest videos have been with this quad and all of them were FPV. Its a real buzz to actually be in the sky with your model. The thing sticking up is the clover leaf antenna. I have just ordered the 600mW ImmersionRC TX and Dominator goggles 5.8Ghz RX with the new ImmersionRC clover leaf antennas. Hope to have them next week.
Thanks. The white lights are only on the tail, so i know when its travelling away from me. I don't plan on night flying. Its just for orientation at dusk.
Looking good Lee. I'm just doing some finishing touches to mine. I'm still a little early of set up and programing for the NAZA. The new dx8 I've never used yet but I'm going to attempt it this weekend! Lol
