my battery is a 2 cell 7.4 v 2 s li-po battery, 2200mah

It says the thrust from your motor is 650g, but you say the plane is 780g. Going by those figures the answer would be no.
You must have more thrust than the weight of the plane.

Do you have a link to the motor you are talking about?
Does it give you the Watts of the motor?
It may well be enough to get the plane in the air, but how it will perform is another thing.
In the specs of the motor, they normally give you a plane weight that it will power.
I'm not the expert on this, so someone else may have more help.

a link to the motor that he is talking about would surely help or if he could post the specs for the motor...that would help.

Bud, I am a VERY busy man and only get on here maybe two times a day. As I stated above your post, I have NEVER weighed my plane to get an AUW. I have plans on building another one, but it's going to be a while. All of hte questions you just asked, I answered. Please read my post for the answers to your questions. All specs for the electronics are on the FIRST page of the plans.

And you need at least as much thrust as you have weight. That would give you a 1:1 thrust to weight ratio. You can go under a 1:1, but it's not going to climb. YOu really need to run this plane on a 3s as I have stated in the plans.

Just wanted to say thank you . Another cool plane build. Of course I put a couple modifications on it:
Added landing gear (just because i like it) and added a lever to open and close the door on the front along with a hood scoop with slots in the door and exhaust vents on the rear for airflow past the esc and battery.
Once again THANK YOU....

Hi Tony
I am going to build this plane soon. I am going to get all the parts before I begin, I will get the foam board from eBay what size board L x W and did you 3mm or 5mm.
Thanks
Les

The board that I use is 20"x30" or 508mm X 762mm and it's about 5mm thick. Make sure to post up some pictures of you putting this thing together. I love seeing people build this plane!

Hi Tony
Thanks for the foam board info, I have managed to find it at my local hobby shop at £4 a board with a 3 for 2 deal so that's that sorted, I have been searching the on line RC shops here in the UK but none seem to stock the Exceed Rocket range of motors, I am not knowledgeable enough to know what other makes available here are suitable as a replacement for this build, I am a bit lost when it comes to body size shaft length and diameter and the array of various power requirements, perhaps you or any other member could advise a few suitable alternatives.
Thanks in advance
Les

When looking for a motor, look for one around the 1300kv range that weighs about 60-70 grams. It should pull about 300 watts. And make sure it has a spinner so you can mount a prop to it.

Yup, you sure can. I have never done it, but there are marks on the plans where you would need to put it. Search RCH Trainer Landing Gear here on the forum to see the members that have put it on theirs.

Hi Tony
I have watched the video showing how to set up the transmitter, I have the DX6i will I be able to set it up using your guide, I'm sure the DX8 has a more up to date software which has settings not on the DX6i, has there been a setup video or post specifically showing how to set up the DX6i for use with the RCH Trainer.
Cheers :beerchug:

It should be exactly the same with the DX6i. The only mixing or anything that you will use is the double ailerons if you use them, and that feature is in your Tx as well. It's under Wing Type.

Ok Tony thank for that

there is only store and when i go to store it says click on the link blow to download and when i click on the link it just takes me around the circle can you plz help?
thank you.

Sorry you are having issues. I just clicked on the link and didn't have an issue. Below is the direct link to the plans.

I do apologize about the video. That video was made with the V1 and we are on the V3 now. I'm trying to get time to make the video for the V3, just finding it a little hard right now.

Let me know if this works for you. If not, I will try to put it in a .zip file and see if you can download it that way. Again, sorry for the issues.
