    Happy New Year All!

Welcome Bud, i'm new here myself. On the subject of your Edge.. You might want to look at the Extreme Flight Edge 540... They are a absolutely brilliant flying model which i think most would recommend over the Great Planes version (not to say that the GP versions isn't a nice plane)..

    Batteries Lipo help.

Just be carfel to check the ful spec of the charger. On cheaper low output chargers the power output is limited to 50 Watts. To calculate how many watts you need multiply battery cells by 4.2 then by the charge current you want. So in this case assuming charge current is 5.5A: 3 cells x 4.2 x...

    700 Goblin 770 Comp

So this is my birthday and Christmas present to myself;) It's the Goblin 770 Comp 'carbon edition' .. the carbon bit gets you a pure carbon canopy and tailboom plus a few upgrades of stuff like the swash, tail control mechanism and maingear. The 770 used basically the same mechanicals as the...

700 Help with normal pitch curve setup on trex700e DFC using ar7200bx.

My advice would be to ditch the normal mode and use idle up (preferably governed) in all flight modes. There is no logical reason to use normal mode on an electric heli, it's really just a carry over from i.c. power helis. Normal mode is just an accident waiting to happen, it's just a matter of...

700 Spooling up problem on trex700e.

Hatchet, the 30%, 70% and 100% that Castle uses in the governor are not throttle openings. Castle is basically using the throttle as a three position switch to activate the pre-set three governed headspeeds. The 30%, 70% and 100% are just the switch values that trigger the three headspeeds...

    700 ESC of choice

Late to the party. Basically +1 on what's been said already. Castle Creations are good ESC's and easy to setup and use. The Castle Governor is especially easy to setup, the only negatives are the need to buy a USB programming dongle, and the rather unusual 'fixed endpoint' throttle calibration...

    Hello

Thanks again for the warm welcome. Lee, i'm originally from Middlesbrough in the north east of England. Thats where the name 'Smoggie' comes from. It's an abbreviation of 'Smog Monster' which is the not so affectionate nickname for residents of Middlesbrough. It comes from the time when...

    600 Kasama Dune 600

Yeah, the engineering and finish on the components is about the best of any heli I've seen. Here in the UK there is reasonable parts supply, there is only one dealer though so if they were out you might have a problem. Luckily i've not needed any parts for it so far (touch wood). It flies real...

    600 Kasama Dune 600

I've had the Dune for a little while now but thout it worth sharing some details of this unusual and distinctive heli. I fell in love with the Dune the first time i saw photos of it with the canopy removed. the engineering is just exquisite. The design of the Dune flies in the face of most...

    450 Trex 450L gyro operation

Due to the stupid way that the 3GX maps channels it needs a 7 channel Tx when using satellites. It maps gyro gain to channel 7, which with a 6 channel Tx you dont have available. options are: Use a different FBL controller Get a standard 'full' receiver rather than sats. Upgrade to a 7...

    Hello

    Hello

Just saying hi, I'm not new to RC, I started flying with my father back in the 1970's. That's when transmitters has 4ft long antenna, you couldn't fly without a frequency peg. All planes were made of balsa and had screaming glow (nitro) engines, or they were gliders, 'dope' was stuff you...

600 SAB Goblin tail belt tension question

Yeah, the servo problem is a real pain. Fingers crossed it gets sorted reasonably quickly. As you know I'm running those exact same KST servos in a couple of my 600 size helis, including my Goblin 630 and they have been fantastic, so I think you just got really unlucky getting two faulty ones...

Batteries My Goblin 700 and its batteries...

Previous advice is all good. Your chosen motor is on the smaller side for the G700, it will still have enough power to fly the 700 fine for sports type flying but you might want to go for a battery slightly on the lighter end of the scale to prevent overworking the motor by hauling around a...

Other New Tx? Looking for Feedback

Have you tried fine tuning the centre point with sub trim in the Tx. I've often found that stick centre does not always correspond with 'neutral' in the FBL setup, but a click or two of sub trim usually fixes it.

    FBL Gyro Spirit Pro Problem

Sorry, i now see that I'm too late to the party and that you got it figured out by yourself, that's great. The one other thing I meant to mention is that the Spirit software only saves settings if you go the the 'Backup' tab and hit 'save'. if you dont do that any changes you make will be lost...

    FBL Gyro Spirit Pro Problem

Heliman, I have a Spirit Pro working with Spektrum sats so might be able to help. Sounds like you are basically following the correct steps. After setting 'receiver type' to Spektrum DSM2/Xyou bind the Spirit in much the same way as a standard Spektrum receiver i.e. you plug in the bind plug...
