Other New Tx? Looking for Feedback

The DC14 looks like a really great piece of kit. The only thing i don't like about the Jeti approach is selling the Tx with only quite basic programming options and making you pay extra to add features. It just seems like sneaky marketing to me, which is why i also dont like the Mikado or Beastx...

    Power Supply's HP DPS-600PB B 575W question

That's a very neat output connector that the guy who modified the PSU has fitted. To open the case you wouldn't need to disturb that connector, but you would have to remove the outer heatshrink covering (no big deal)

General Please Help. Trex 150 and 250

The Gpro should work well enough in the 250. It doesn't have 'rescue' and self leveling like the spirit does but it should fly the heli perfectly well.

    Power Supply's HP DPS-600PB B 575W question

All you need to do to adjust voltage is turn a trimmer pot. I cant recall if you have to open the case to do so, most likely you do, but that's not a big deal it's just a few screws. You are going to have to open up a case on one of them to isolate the internal earth anyway.

    Micro TREX 150 issues

The mini ikon in a trex 150 is not that simple because the Trex 150 uses a direct drive tail rotor motor.. so the FBL has to control a brushless motor rather than a servo. To do this conversion you would need the mini ikon plus TWO brushless ESC's.. While it might work (or it might not) it would...

    Power Supply's HP DPS-600PB B 575W question

It would work in in theory, but I have used these exact same power supplies and I can confirm muranker's concerns to be true. If you adjust the supply to deliver higher voltage it becomes unstable at high outputs. I originally set both of mine to 13v and while it worked ok at low load, at higher...

You Log In, You Post In Here

The new generation (G2) DX7 is quite new so there isn't much available online, however it's software and user interface is almost identical to the DX9 which has been around for a while. if you have a look on Youtube for setup videos fore the DX9 you should find plenty.

    700 Kds agile 7.2

I want flying today with a mountain of batteries intending to have a marathon flying session. When i got to the field there was a cross country running event organised and too many people milling around for comfort. I did get three flights in before the running started including two with the...

    700 Kds agile 7.2

The shocking pink canopy colour was not my choice, it came with the heli... It should at least be highly visible of dull days. I also have the standard KDS canopy if the pink one causes too much p!ss taking down the field:wink:

700 Power cycling Castle 160 Edge HV

A flying buddy of mine had endless problems when running Speky satellites on his BD3SX which caused similar power cutting symptoms (though it never caused the surging shown in the second video). We tried everything including upgraded uBEC, capacitor connected to BD3SX, new ESC and nothing...

General YEP ESC fries receiver - help?

Most likely it was the BEC in the ESC that failed and passed full battery voltage (12.6V for a fully charged 3s LiPo) to the receiver.

Spektrum Which Spektrum Rx to use

The best Speky Rx to use would probably be the new AR7700 because it supports PPm and SXRL, so you can connect it to the Microbeast with a single line rather than a bunch of wires. Or at a lower price you could use one of the PPM output Lemon Rx receivers: Lemon Rx DSMX Compatible PPM 8-Channel...

General YEP ESC fries receiver - help?

The lemon receivers work normally with a direct 2s LiPo for high voltage servo setups, so thats 8.4V at least.

General YEP ESC fries receiver - help?

The other wire is for programming the ESC, so you did the correct thing in connecting the longer/heavier wire. The programming wire just sits disconnected when you arent programming. Connecting the plug the wrong way wouldn't have fried the receiver unless someone has swapped over the pins in...

    700 Kds agile 7.2

Took me a bit longer than expected, due to laziness rather than any build problems, but it's finished! Build spec is 'what I had laying around': FBL: Vbar Blueline Servos: RJX HV ESC: Rotorstar 120HV (same as YEP) with YGE heatsink Motor: KDS BL4725 540Kv BEC: Gryphon 7075LMT 'Quasar' RC...

General Spektrum AR7300bx rudder servo not centering

I'll chip in.... A servo hooked up to a heading hold gyro wont centre when it's on the ground. Meriden, you were right in what you said, it only centres in flight when the heli achieves the change in heading that you commanded when you moved the stick. You can simulate this on the ground...

Batteries Whats a good source for Lipos?

The best batteries i've ever had were some of the early Gens Ace. When they were first introduced and no one had heard of them they were cheap and performed exceptionally well. I've got some that are five years old and still perform good! Unfortunately as the brand gained reputation they bumped...

700 Power cycling Castle 160 Edge HV

I had Exactly the same problem with my Compass 7HV when I first built it. That was using a cheap Hobbyking YEP 120. I tried everything, checked all connections, 'played' with all the settings, nothing made a jot of difference. In the end I swapped it for another ESC (by coincidence a Castle...

FBL Gyro MSH Brain-Ikon Rescue Sneak Peak

Both now discontinued and of course they don't feature stability or rescue which is the theme of the thread. The AR7200BX is replaced by the AR7210BX (no direct replacement for the AR7300 as of yet). Unfortunately although the AR7210BX has stability/rescue capability it's disabled by default and...

FBL Gyro MSH Brain-Ikon Rescue Sneak Peak

Beats the Mikado Neo too, which has a similar price premium to the Microbeast for 'pro rescue' firmware upgrade.. It's more than $80 I'm pretty sure, more like $100. Both the microbeast and Neo only come with a plastic case. The Microbeast only supports a single Spektrum sat. The Neo has no...
