450 3GX is driving me crazy

I always ran satellites when i used a 3GX... But as I understand it if using a standard receiver you need to run the three wire (black/red/white) lead that should have come with the 3GX between the 'battery out' port on the 3GX to any spare port on the receiver. This is what takes power from the...

FBL Gyro If you have a Spirit gyro you must read this

I hope you get your Spirit sorted soon Rodney. Sounds like the tech support is pretty good.

FBL Gyro If you have a Spirit gyro you must read this

FWIW = For What It's Worth By coincidence Pressure vessels and pressure piping is my day job for the last 47 years. As a point of interested ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) who invented pressure vessel design code call such events 'explosions'...

FBL Gyro If you have a Spirit gyro you must read this

I beg to differ.... Explode | Definition of Explode by Merriam-Webster :friendly_wink: FWIW the 6 degree thing isnt a limit at all, it's just a calibration point. The FBL will apply whatever cyclic pitch angle it needs to achieve the commanded rate of rotation (i.e. the command you apply with...

FBL Gyro If you have a Spirit gyro you must read this

Yes, that's how you set it, with a slider in the software. This setting is not related to rescue. It's just the setting that calibrated the FBL so it 'knows' what 6 degrees of cyclic looks like for general flying. All FBL controllers I've used have a similar setting, with the Vbar for instance...

    Other The Spirit Pro thread..........

I really wish I could be more helpful on this issue Rodney but I've only done a bind on the Spirit once, and it worked first time without issue. So my experience is limited to that one event. FWIW when i upgraded to v2.0 firmware i didn't have to rebind, my unit retained its bind after updating.

    Other The Spirit Pro thread..........

When you insert the bind plug are you putting it on the correct set of pins? You use different pin connections depending on if you are binding in DSMX vs DSM2. For DSMX you use the 'ELE/PIT/AIL' pins and for DSM2 you use the 'SYS' pins. The other thing you could try just for testing purposes is...

    Other The Spirit Pro thread..........

So it is the Pro you have?.. strange that the software seems to think that you have a 'regular' Spirit. how many satellite ports does it have? (pro has 2, normal Spirit has one) Have you tried binding to a spare model memory? A couple of times in the past (with other FBL controllers) I've had...

The other thing to watch when binding is not to have the Tx too close to the receiver, keep the Tx at least arms length away.

I usually use the rate switch to activate different gains too, at least once i have figured out what the optimum values are for each headspeed. 50% was just a example by the way, what you need varies heli to heli, start quite low and work up. The Stabi modes are: Rescue = 'Panic...

    Other The Spirit Pro thread..........

channel to switch mapping is done in System setup > Switch select Channel seven is called Aux 2 in the menu. For the gyro you need to have a positive value (for example +50%) to activate HH mode. Negative values give you rate mode or can activates rescue or stability (depending on what option...

ok, so after going through the wizard and setting it up open the software and click on the 'general' tab. Down the bottom right of that screen you will see a button called 'channels'... Click the button: That brings up this screen: 'bank' channel will be unassigned so click on the drop down...

Yeah, i use bank switching on mine. You need to map a channel to 'bank' in the receiver channel mapping screen.

    Micro Crashed the Trex 150

It's unlikely to be fixable, or at least very difficult. The wires are extensions of the winding wire inside the motor and they are coated with an insulating lacquer that prevents soldering. You would have to scratch the lacquer off which is very fiddly on such small wire at the best of times...

General Spektrum AR7300bx rudder servo not centering

Very nice heli, great to hear that she flew with no issues. FWIW on metal gear servos i always put a small spot of blue Loctite on the servo arm retaining screw.

FBL Gyro New gyro, 3 digi

That FBL looks very interesting. i like the high current input lead option, i wish all FBL controllers had that. When they add the governor and rescue features I'd be very likely to give one a try, though i cant find a UK distributor..

FBL Gyro If you have a Spirit gyro you must read this

The 6 degrees cyclic setting is not directly related to the problem. 6 degrees isn't the limit that cyclic will go to, it's just a calibration point so that the FBL knows where 6 degrees is. The maximum cyclic travel range is limited by the cyclic ring setting and for safety you want to keep...

Other New Tx? Looking for Feedback

Jeti is certainly the radio brand everyone is talking about these days, the 3rd FBL integration is a great feature and unique as far as I know. I'm a Spektrum user but I have got a bit disillusioned with Spektrum lately. They just seem to be behind the curve in a few areas, not even having...
