    Spektrum DX6 Binding Problem

Tony, I've been following Phil's problems with this issue. He's tried at least two AR7200BX units (both of which bind just fine to the JR Tx), and all AR7200BX FBL/receivers are DSMX. So they 'should' bind fine to the new DX6.

    450 Gaui X3 Servos

That's definitely Servoking then, because they make RJX servos for 100% sure. The RJX are identical to a standard Servoking servo. As you say Uri, the BK servos do look different from anything in the standard Servoking range, at least in the external case design, if the internals are any...

    Spektrum DX6 Binding Problem

Phil, The process you are following looks fine to me. Have you tried binding to a newly created 'clean' model memory in the Tx? Other than that, improbable though it seems, it does look like the transmitters are faulty.

    Batteries Newbie Lipo Questions

I didn't actually say that it wasn't true. What i said was there is no evidence to support it, and in my own experience over the years i've not observed it. I agree, I cant 'prove' it doesnt work. But there again i cant prove that throwing salt over your shoulder to bring good luck is nonsense...

    450 Gaui X3 Servos

Specification wise I think the KST are pretty darn close if not the equal of the likes of BK. I'm too tight to pay top dollar for servos but I totally understand how some would want the added assurance of a servo with a big name endorsement, even if it costs a lot more (plus they look very slick...

    700 T_Rex 700E DFC setup?

The BEC you have there is actually not a BEC as such (because it doesn't eliminate a battery) but a voltage regulator. It must be powered from it's own 2S LiPo, this is the part: 6A External BEC w/ 5.1V Two-way Step-down voltage reg K10382A - English I'd strongly recommend that you remove it...

    Batteries Newbie Lipo Questions

Well it depends who you listen to, some certainly claim that it extends life. As for reducing I.R. like Tony said, where is the test data to support that claim? If I.R. does actually reduce over the first few cycles (which personally I've never observed) then where is the evidence to show that...

    Batteries Newbie Lipo Questions

LiPo and Li-Ion are the same chemistry. The 'Po' in LiPo (at least the LiPos we use) refers to the polymer pouch which is the only real difference (Li-Ion being supplied in metal tubular cases). Lithium polymer battery - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Yes, there are many RC hobby end users...

    700 T_Rex 700E DFC setup?

They fly on two 6S 5000mAh batteries wired in series to make 12S. I'd recommend 40C or higher unless you fly very gently. Depending on how the receiver and servos are powered you may need a seperate receiver battery. What servos does it have fitted and is there a BEC installed? So it doesnt...

    Spektrum DX6 Binding Problem

I've got to agree, the chances of two transmitters both failing at the same time are pretty slim. Nothing is impossible of course but it's right up there on the 'improbable' scale. This kind of puts the whole thing back in the melting pot. Could it be simply a case of not following the correct...

The Chinese, Helping Or Hurting The Hobby???

The original AR8000 is almost certainly made in China too. For sure the Spektrum DX6 transmitter is because I have one right here and the box is clearly marked 'Made in China': So IMHO it's a little unfair to blame China for the knockoffs without also giving them credit for all the genuine...

    450 Gaui X3 Servos

The SH-0257 are good servos, maybe not in the same performance bracket as some of the newer HV servos but they are still pretty decent. I have them on my Chase 360 and they have performed fine, more than good enough to match my abilities!. I use them on a few of my planes too.

    Batteries Newbie Lipo Questions

yeah, i've heard the 'stabilizer' explanation before but there again I've also read that it's also just an urban myth. It's hard to get a real definitative authoratative source on batteries but batteryuniversity.com is about as good a resource as there is because it's written by genuine...

    Batteries Newbie Lipo Questions

Yeah. 'breaking in' is a controversial subject. Evidence supporting it is purely anecdotal. I'd take the opposite view about the 'jury leaning'. I think what does tell the real story though is in the rapidly growing electric power car market where batteries cost $thousands and use the same...

    Spektrum DX6 Binding Problem

Derek, New european spec Spektrum transmitters made since January 2015 dont have DSM2 support.. So if this is a 2015 or later Tx it won't bind to any DSM2 receiver. If it did not bind to two different AR7200BX units (but a different Tx bound without issue) then it does seem like a faulty Tx is...

    450 I got bored!

I accidentally flew my trex 600 with the tail blades on backward once. It actually flew ok, the tail rotor made a slightly 'different' noise and it was as if the gain was too high, but nothing catastrophic.

    700 T_Rex 700E DFC setup?

Danny, If you want it to be easy to fly then go for a flybarless controller with 'auto-level' stabilisation. There are a few choices available: Brain2 or iKon2 (same thing with different name) Spirit Pro BeastX Microbeast Plus Spektrum AR7210BX The microbeast and AR7210BX end up more costly...

    Spektrum DX6 Binding Problem

PS.. If he does decide on a new DX6.. As luck would have it i have one here 'new in it's box' (though stored for several months). I got it with a second hand heli I bought but the Tx has never been used at all. I intended to stick it on eBay but havent gotten around to it yet.

    Spektrum DX6 Binding Problem

Sorry, i didn't pick up that the Tx had worked with this heli previously. Then it does sound like the Tx has a fault. I've heard quite a few reports of the RF module failing on the DX6. Horizon often repair them free of charge even when out of warranty, so it's worth enquiring.
