What did I do today? Let's just say Been busy busy busy. Still working at Cleveland Clinic at least thatbhas not changed. I still have my house health and kids. The past summer I devoted my efforts to my yard that was almost a failure. Disappointing to say the least. But it's a work in progress.

This past weekend I downloaded every rc heli Nation episode to listen to in my new car. Yep a newer car. The Rouge is still drivable and will be my beater car. I finally paid off the debt from that pos about a minth ago.. $2400 done and nonlinear worry about it. I finally got out from under almost all my debt. All I have left is the house and newer car. Not to mention all the stuff that goes along with having a house and car.

Last Sunday I finalized my car purchase. What did is get well its a beauty to me. Outside of all that still hanging in and living one day at a time.

Glad it's coming together.
We had to replace our car twice in 4 months due to accidents.
1st,dad's error,2nd wife was rear ended, both at same spot. Lol
We no longer use that option to go,leave neighborhood.

That sucks for sure. At least you able to recover. I feel fortunate that I have what I have. The Saturn in the pic is broken and I don't feel like fixing it any more. It's going to the grave yard after 20 hard years of life.

I Just ordered my intake and have my coolant and oil waiting to go in. lol. Thinking about getting the MPx cat back this year and then finish the system in 2023 with the MPx header and high flow cat.

Always remember, if it can't sh*t,it can't eat. Building my '70 SS Monte, I started with 3" exhaust. After that options are endless
BTW: Tony is a gear head also. Not sure what you know about him. He had a forum called broke auto that's kinda dead right now (I think).

murankar, good to see another MOPAR fan!

I am in the Cummins variety. This one has a larger turbo, exhaust, head studs, ported manifolds, etc... It would spin the 12.5x35" tires in third gear before I turned it down...

And it will still set you back in the seat! Still looks great and drives sweet to be 16 years old!

I hate they killed that 59 though. We all know newer cars are "impact" safer, so what was the point? I knew a guy that had a black hotrod 59 El Camino... I would love to have one. Even a four door sedan.... Old stuff is so cool, don't care how "dangerous" it is.... as you can see...

Personally I'll be happy if I can get this one the way I want it. I admire the old stuff but... kinda hooked on some of the newer stuff.

Since were talk'n cars, the idle in the 2011 Honda Civic is stumbling way too much. So I went through the 7- & 3/4-inch-high Honda manual, or as I call it, (the bible of the vehicle) ... I scanned it and followed all the diagnostic procedures and it all pointed to a dirty throttle body. So I removed it and cleaned it the way the book told me to do it. After I re-installed the throttle body, I checked the throttle positioning setting with the scanner. It showed all good and no-fault codes found.

Time to fire it up and see how she runs.
He shoots! He scores!! She runs perfect! Nice!
Next up, the rear tint is waisted so that needs replacement. After that I am waiting for the front brake sensors to start squeaking. Pretty soon!!! I already have the caliper kits and pads and my friend has a good machine shop to cut the rotors... I must have cut a thousand rotors and drums in my days at the shop. I have of those vacuum bleeders for the bleeding procedure and love it!

Take a look at the picture. It was that little sooty carbon that screwed up the idle.
Ok guys, have fun with your projects! Me; my body is going to kill me tomorrow...

My next goal is to get the oil and coolant changed. After that the intake is going on which is going to be a bit of fun. following that up with the cat back. Take a break and build up my parts for the round. Breaks, pads rotors, header and high flow cat.

Rob, you should have seen me after I installed the engine and transaxel in the 911. I jacked it up as high as I could on stands, then used two floor jacks in tandem to snake it all in. It really wasn't that big of a deal, but I was by myself, so it took some getting up, getting down... etc. What is cool is it was all in one unit. You get it in place, four bolts, and then you just hook the electrical, linkage, oil lines, fuel, drive shafts, etc., and good to go. Oh, the reason for the extraction was the synros in the trans were bad. I had it rebuilt, new clutch, bearings, surfaced flywheel, rebuilt starter, alternator, drive shaft boots. and a restoration of the Weber carbs. Oh, I totally went through the brakes, had the calipers restored, new pads and hardware, new rubber lines on all four corners, new Konis x 4, ... All new shifter linkage bushings.... New horns... Uh... LOL!!!! And the original interior was gone, so I found original rear "seats" etc and lucked up on some aluminum frame Wolf Racing seats for the front... and a really cool Raid steering wheel, all from the same era, early 70s and rare.

It is kind of tired at 108K on the original motor, but still will run well over 135.... last time out. The plan is to pull the motor and replace it with newer one with 100 more HP. 300hp in a 2,200 pound car should be pretty quick I would think. ;)

Ah yes, the transvers trans axle. Hondas are similar. My brother has a 1996 Accord that will need a clutch soon. I do the same jack it up as high as I can go and use the jack to lower the tranny. Oh, it'll kill me, but I want to do it... Should I change the rear seal and mill the flywheel while I'm at it? LOL!!

Is that big brown thing the muffler? If so, that's funky... It's so huge.
Go man, go!

Oh, hey I went to the airfield today for the first time in a long time. Flew a couple of packs and talked with the guys there. One guy had a rather large Chinook. He was doing the finial tuning and setup with it. It didn't have a fuselage, but it flew great. I always wondered how a Chinook's rudder system worked, but not anymore. Thanks guys!! I see it now.

The 2011 Civic is still running great! I love it when it all comes together... Keep those throttle bodies clean folks!

Yep, that is the muffler. It really isn't that big, as it is narrow and wide to fit under the body work. It is also very quiet (leaning to a sport muffler for more "vroom"). I have had the car for over 25 years and it has been rained on... ONCE! LOL!!! It has minimal corrosion and is one of 989 cars produced (trans and engine numbers matching). And that is a short list above. It has taken me a while to get this far because of the cost and availability of parts. Next up is knee pad, dash, door panels... The dash is over $2,500... And it is missing the MFI (mechanical fuel injection) and the Sport Seats it originally came with. Those will cost in excess of $10K each!... And I am still a long way from a complete resto. So, steady as she goes!!!

No pictures or video of the Chinook??? "Come on man"! :chairshot:

Used wrench on and restore cars. I had my own shop for several years. That was one of the first things I did on a tune-up, was to flush the carbon out of the throttlebody. It even helped on carbs.

Oh, it is a little rough on the outside. I bought it from an estate sale and the fellow that owned it used it as a "bar car" running women. The original wheels are in storage (I even have the original spare never on the ground!). 15" tires are hard to come by... So it has 16" now and since I don't drive it much, sticky auto X tires... I have to get the rear sway bar sorted and it will be on rails, like it is not already.
