I just discovered a great education opportunity. My Supervisor asked how my education was going and then asked if I heard about the FEMA independent study program. There are 158 courses in FEMA operations and every single one is free. Each course takes about 45 to 90 minutes to complete. I think I might do it.

give folks a few hours to look at the post. You will get a response to your thread. Also try and be specific as to what it is you need. If all you need to do is learn to fly then Tony has a 9 part (i think) video series on flying helicopters. Get some good training gear (preferably carbon fiber) and a sim.

Well, the hobby will be taking a serious economical hit. Up to this point I've pretty much been able to spend all my money on the birds and equipment, but I'll have to step it down a couple of notches...

Me and the GF placed an order for a new flat on a planned apartment building last year, it was estimated finished by May this year. But waddaya know, yesterday we got a letter from the real estate company saying the new flat will be ready for delivery January 28th! So we will be getting a new home in about two weeks :D

What sucks is that we was going to save up some cash until May, so that we could handle the transition (rent on our current apartment overlapping down payments on the new one). We had just started saving - and what can I tell ya? It's not much LOL.

Great to own a new apartment! - sucks to pay out my nose for 3-4 months :(

BTW. the new place will be considerably larger than the one we have today - so a man cave may be in the works ;)

Having to stay awake for this joke of a job of mine. Not going to be a good qualifying day tomorrow...

Why do you have to stay awake?

Because I have to be at headquarters in OKC at 0600 in the morning to leave out for Camp Gruber out east. Arrive there at 0900 and hope like hell we get back around 1500 tomorrow. Needless to say, switching my schedule around in 24 hours, I"m going to be very tired and I'm not going to shoot worth a crap.

I just qualified on the 9mm a week ago. First time ever, sot a 22 out 40 on pop up.

Same gun I'm going to be shooting. Government Issued Glock 17. I HATE 9mm's. I like my .45...

The sig and my .45 produce the same wound cavity. Except that mine is much slower and heavier and won't go through the person that I'm shooting and hit the person behind them. With teh sig, that could happen since it's like an 1800fps round whereas mine is 820. Brute force! But this damn G17 they are making me carry, thanks to the geneva convention, I have to carry FMJ's. I hate FMJ's!!!

Ahh, the .45 is like throwing a freaking rock at them. About as big and goes about as fast. It's true that my .357 MIGHT over penetrate, but it definitely won't under penetrate.

Throwing a rock? I will tell you what, you put on a vest and I will throw a rock at you, then I will shoot you with a 230gr .45 round and you tell me if there is a difference... :chuckles:

I have shot the sig, it's what I carried for a few days when I was working at the PD. Everyone up there had one until they told them they didn't want them carrying such a hot round. My .45 has a thud when you shoot it. The sig has a crack to it. Good weapons, just way too expensive to shoot. If I had my choice, and when I got my G21 I was looking for the G22. Your gun, but in a .40. Same case just not necked down. Same clip and everything. I could change the barrel in your gun to a .40 and load up some .40 rounds and have a hayday. Another reason I wanted the sig lmao.
