How do you do that without damaging the can?

Also, don't forget about the EZ connectors to link the rods to the control horns.

You put a backer on the can like a socket or something. There will be a little damage, but shouldn't be much.

What about a c clamp and socket? Never thought about using a socket as a backer.

Ok, the c-clamp with socket backer worked. Thanks Tony, I would have been fighting this thing all night without that idea. The old shaft has a very slight but noticeable bend also.

I figured it would have. And you need to start thinking like a mechanic and not a computer guy. Computer guys look for the nice way to do things whereas mechanics look for the best possible reason to pull out the BFH
