Alright, I Have verified that they are in fact coming from the ads. I have changed the ad format and hopefully, the issue is gone. Poke around and if you see something, let me know and I will handle it. I have a feeling that we are about to lose some money and that I'm going to have to remove the ads. If that happens, it's going to suck big time as there may be months that I can't afford to keep the site up and running. UGH, I hate damn spammers and hackers...

Okay everyone, I have completely rewritten the code in the ads on the forum. This is the reason you may be seeing "the website can't be found". They are brand new ads and hopefully will clear up any and all issues that we had. Only time will tell and please, post up if you see any of them. If you don't want to post up, then you can PM me, click the contact us link or email me directly at admin@rc-help.com. I'm doing all I can to get rid of these and keep a flow of cash coming in to keep the forum running without worry.

Tony...

I know that the themes and ads are separate and unrelated but I mentioned them because they are areas that people seldom think of looking. I was simply mentioning the two areas that I've personally experienced and were possible causes and are the hardest to find... I had heard of, but not seen, the actual common code of a forum being altered as well but that was a long time ago, so I didn't mention it for that reason and I suspected you were already looking in that area... in fact, it is probably the first place you looked if you are anything like me when I have to address these types of issues. I always kept a backup of the common forum code as well as the themes just for these reasons... then it is usually just a matter of reloading those from backup to resolve the issue.

I had only brought the themes direction back up so the users would post which one they were using just in case there was a correlation that could help you isolate the issue more.

A suggestion... edit your post with the links and place a space at http :// ... It will make certain someone can't click on the link and still provide the info Tony requested.

Scanning Tony's system will do no good... first the issue is on the webserver and not his personal computer... second, this is an exploit and not a malware infection so nothing for an antivirus or an antispyware to detect. Just as additional info, the webservers are probably running linux and while AVG does have a version that will likely work on it... I doubt that the owners of the servers that Tony leases the space from have that one installed since it isn't a free version for business use. AVG is only free for personal use.

I see I wasnt aware he didnt own his server. I still have a webserver I host a personal webpage on I haven't updated in since 2005 :( To many other things to do.

Looks like I'm wiping the server clean tonight. There has to be something in some code somewhere in the 10K+ pages that make up this forum that has something in it. I just hope like hell it's not in the database. More work for Tony...

Just give me a little time. It's going ot take weeks for me to rebuild the themes though if I put them back at all. I'm worried about making backup's of them just in case there is in fact somethign in there that is causing this issue. Just stick with me for a bit and I will get everything worked out.

Which themes are you referring to? I think as long as the site works and we dont get pinged at work for looking at porn most of us would be happy :)

I have disabled all but one theme, the fire theme. The reason I'm keeping the fire theme is because I know everything that's in it and where everything is located.

I just went to the 450 section and I do not see anything, no redirect or anything. I'm still trying to see if we are in fact getting hit still, or if it was a cache that was causing it. I completely redid the ads on the forum with new code from google. If it's still on here, it's on the site somewhere. I just have to find it. I may have to shut the whole site down until I do...

Thanks Jesse. I'm over here trying to look in every possible place to keep this from happening again. I can't apologize to you guys enough that this is happening, very embarrassing to RCH and to myself. We will get it though. One way or another.

Guys, I have been clicking through every possible forum on this site and I can not get anything to come up. Are any of you still seeing this?

If you guys would, please click on your start menu and type in "CMD". Open the CMD prompt and type in "ipconfig /flushdns". Then, go into your internet options and clean out your cookies and temp internet files. Once you are done with that, come back and tell me if you are still getting them. I don't want to have to reload this forum if I don't have to, but I will if it keeps up. I'm just really hoping this is a cache issue now. Let me know guys.

It was hitting the beginner help area hard. That is what I was using to see if it was still there. with the old ads, it never failed. Click the beginner help area in the heli section, and boom, redirect. After the ad change, I could not get it to do it again and thought it was over and done with. Then I wake up today and here we are again. I'm literally :banghead:
