    ESC HobbyWing ESC

I think a lot of the bad feeling toward Castle ESC's stems from the problems they had a few years ago with their 'Ice' HV ESC's. The early ones were prone to spontaneous combustion which caused a number of models to be lost. Castle eventually recognised the problem and did a recall of all the HV...

    ESC HobbyWing ESC

I used a YEP 80A on my Trex 500 and it worked fine, I sold the heli to Neil and it's still working fine. As for the rating of a motor and it's effect on the ESC...... 55A is not what the motor 'will' pull, it's just the safe maximum rating. The motor may in fact pull more or less than this...

    Servos Servo Horn Alignment

I have a few adjustable servo horns that I tent to use on the tail servo because with many FBL controllers you cant centre the tail servo with subtrim in the FBL. These are what I use: 3 x KST Adjustable CNC Metal Servo Arm for KST Servos | eBay

Videos Extreme Flight Edge 540T 48in on Easter Day

On the strength of your video I'll dust my 540t off and give it some air time this weekend. Weather permitting I'll shoot a video.

Chargers 2 chargers and still not one will balance charge

Mine never end up at 4.2V, the voltage on my batteries falls back to around 4.17V per cell. This is deliberate because I've set the charge end current to cut off at 10% of starting current. Trickling in the last couple of hundredths of a volt takes an inordinate length of time and I'm too...

FBL Gyro Spirit (Pro) v2.0.0 Screen Shots

Phil, I should have said on my previous reply.. Thanks for taking the time to do this! I'm sure it will be a great resource for those new to the Spirit.

Chargers 2 chargers and still not one will balance charge

That's fine as long as you do a balance charge every few charges. If I charge at home I usually balance but when charging in the field I don't bother as the balance part of the charge cycle can take quite a bit of time.

    We Have Our Dedicated Server!!!

My Chrome is bang up to date (just checked) and I still get the messages. I think the fact that most people are getting the same message points to it not being down to anyones local setup.

Chargers 2 chargers and still not one will balance charge

Neil, Bear in mind that the difference between 4.2 and 4.19V is one hundredth of a volt, or about 1% of the batteries capacity... i.e. it's insignificant. The problem with balancing taking forever is twofold: First the internal resistance of the battery cells won't be as close to one another...

    Warning From Google Chrome

It must be very frustrating after all the hard work to get these sort of issues. Most likely just a temporary glitch. I filled in the Incorrect Phishing Warning form that you linked in the other thread.

    We Have Our Dedicated Server!!!

Has anyone else started to receive 'Deceptive site ahead' warnings from Google Chrome when visiting RC-Help since the new server came online? I get this warning from Google Chrome: I've also tried Internet Explorer (which I rarely use these days) and that on the first visit give me a...

    Another new member

That Blade looks great. Is there any part that's not upgraded:) I dont normally 'do' small helis as they can be a bit frenetic to fly but my brief experience with a Blade 180 recently (before the dog attack) makes me think they might be worth another try. By the way.. you are a braver man than...

FBL Gyro Spirit (Pro) v2.0.0 Screen Shots

Phil, The advice I gave was basically 'good practice' setup for any heli, not specifically the Spirit. The objective of setting up any heli is the same regardless of what FBL is fitted. I agree with you that in many cases you shouldn't have to adjust the length of links individually because...

Projects Scratch Built "Weston UK Velocity 50"

If you want some cheap speed thrills the Hobbyking Rarebear 'Funfighter' is worth looking at. It's only 620mm span (about 24") but it will crack 100mph which looks a lot faster on such a small plane. Here's mine from a year or two back:

600 Uri's Big bird build journal

To measure Rx pack voltage you shouldn't need any cables. The voltage is measured direct from the FBL unit itself because the pack plugs directly into it. If you plan on changing the Rx pack every few flights you could easily get away with a smaller pack (say 1200-1300mAh) . If you have a...

I'd have gone for the 570 too, they look real nice. As for the battery. I'm not a Vcontrol user but i know that the Vcontrol does telemetry, so i'd guess that you can very easily set an alarm to warn you if the Rx battery pack voltage is low? This is what i do with my helis, I've yet to need it...

Great to know that it fixed it.. i'll store that away for future reference, I didn't think it would have had such a serious effect.
