450 Tarot Zyx-s2 3-axis Gyro Vs Mini Kbar

Looks ok to me. You need a bit more pitch for nose right because the tail is having to work against reaction torque from the main rotor. Looks like they have designed this differential into the linkage which is standard on many Trex tails. Tony.. the pictures are looking from below, so it's...

    450 Align Se V2 (hk450gt) Rebirth

Tony, As for the FB paddles turning.. The problem must be an aerodynamic instability of the paddle that makes them try to flip round when RPM and aerodynamic forces are high. The paddles should really be weighted at the leading edge (like main blades are) so that they balance around 20-25% of...

Comment by 'Smoggie' in article 'Ball Link Pliers A Must Have If You Deal With Ball Links'

I couldn't agree more Tony. Ball link pliers an an absolute 'must have' tool as far as i'm concerned, no one should try to build or maintain a heli without them. It's handy to have two sets, one with straight jaws and one with curved like the ones you have. The straight ones would solve the...

450 The Oxy 4 Is Coming

That's a fair point well made. However If I were ever to go for an Oxy 4 I'd be shopping for 'upgrades' right away. I really dont like DFC so i'd want the aftermarket standard FBL head, plus the 360 stretch kit. With blades that's probably a $460 heli right there.. that really does stack it up...

Motors Eflight Power 15 Comparable Substitute

I'm a fan of the Motrolfly motors too. They aren't available over this side of the pond but when I flew mainly fixed wing i imported a few of their motors. They are about the only supplier i know of who will do custom winding to meet your specific requirements.

Motors Eflight Power 15 Comparable Substitute

Doesn't have to be an exact match, I'm sure the Tacon would be just fine. Depending on how tight the installation is, it's also worth looking at the physical dimensions. I've had a few planes where the length of the motor is critical to avoid the spinner sticking way out in front of the cowl...

Motors Eflight Power 15 Comparable Substitute

Best way to match motors is to look for another motor with similar weight and similar Kv. In this case that would mean 950Kv and 150g. Hobbyking make a range of eflight clone motors, so the Turnigy G15 would be a straight drop in replacement: Turnigy G15 Brushless Outrunner 950kv Or pick your...

Misc Now This Is Very Cool!

Yeah, that's very clever. Kinda also makes you appreciate how just how clever humans and even dogs are to be able to do the same thing.

450 The Oxy 4 Is Coming

I cant really blame Oxy for going in with a high price. Seems like there are a bunch of hardcore Oxy faithful who would pay pretty much anything to get the latest Oxy heli first. If they are happy to pay a bit more that's fine, it helps Oxy recover some of their development costs quickly. As you...

The Return (after An Absence Of Around 6 To 8 Years)

Scot, I dont bother too much with magazines anymore as it's pretty much available on line now, but having said that I'm sure it will be a worthwhile read. If you charge the batteries in a garage or outdoors (what it's dry obviously) you would be safe enough. I'd be surprised if they do still...

The Return (after An Absence Of Around 6 To 8 Years)

Welcome back Scot! The RC heli hobby has shrunk quite a bit in recent years, I'm not sure exactly why but the popularity of 'drones' probably has a lot to do with it. But not to worry too much, the hobby is still alive and well albeit just a bit smaller in numbers. With the hobby shrinking some...

450 The Oxy 4 Is Coming

Looks nice but I'm not so sure about a 325mm 450 priced about $60 higher than a Goblin 380? It will be interesting to see if the price gets cut after the initial excitement dies down like SAB did with the 380.

    What Did You Do Today???

Exactly as you said, the ribs joining the two halves were rusted away. Yeah, it's the road salt that does it, living on the coast doesnt help either because the air air naturally salty and of course it's Scotland so damp most of the time..

    What Did You Do Today???

Removing the discs was a job from hell, they corrode theselves onto the hub and cant be moved even with my biggest lump hammer. I ended up whacking them so hard the disc cracked all the way round but still the centre part was stuck solid. In the end it took an angle grinder and a chisel to break...

    What Did You Do Today???

I spent the last couple of days fixing my heli transporter!.. One of the front ventilated discs split completely in two, the inner part seperated from the outer and was rattling around. It made a horrific sound when it went and the feeling of the brake pedal going to the floor and no brakes...

700 What is the best Speed Controller for the Trex 800.

On the battery connection colour is VERY important!.. It's pretty obvious, it's simply red to red and black to black. Get that wrong and it's new ESC time.

What Is Your New Years Resolution?

Looking forward to the Vidieos Tony... and wow, thats cold!.. Se get down that cold here too occasionally but not so far this year. I dont really do resolutions but I would like to do a bit more flying than i did last year. the weather just seemed diabolical last year so i hope 2018 is better...

    FBL Gyro Trex 250@3gx

Yes, if using a 6 channel Tx then you have to use a 'full' receiver because. If you use a sat on the 3GX gyro gain is allocated to channel 7, so gain wont operate from a 6 channel Tx. This wouldn't stop it binding though. If using a conventional 'full' receiver then you just bind the receiver...

    Spektrum Help

That's sounding more promising. You have to now bind the receiver to the transmitter. Consult the manual for how to do that.
