Awesome! I bet it was a bit scary when it first spooled up! PS.. you dont need anything 'extra' to run governor mode. The ESC has the facility to do it, you just need to program it to turn it on. The Microbeast has governor function too though i'm not sure if you need to buy a software upgrade...

Personally i'd still go SRXL, it's just neater with only one wire. You will also need to use the USB link to setup the ESC governor, if going that route. Governor (either ESC or FBL) is highly recommended on a big heli.

When you swapped the ESC, you didnt change anything else.. correct? If that's the case then stop messing with FBL settings because that cant be the problem, it must be something related to the ESC. My guess is that you need to set the ESC up in Governor mode and/or setup proper throttle curves...

I just found out that the AR8010T does have SRXL, so it will work on single wire. That makes it ideal

Alternatively you could use the new AR8010T which has telemetry built in. But you would then need a standard multi wire connection between receiver and FBL. either option is good

Yes, the AR620 will be ok for a smaller heli but the big ones tend to fly further away, and the big solid lumps of metal and carbon can easily block signals, so it's strongly advised to have antenna diversity on the big helis. I'll do a bit of digging and find out what Spektrum receiver people...
