Let me give this thing a fair shake this weekend before we draw any conclusion. I only have one battery for this thing the one that came with it and it doesnt seem to be up to the task for this helicopter. Its got the EC3 connectors on it which I am finding out I really dont like!! I am going to cut them off and solder the XT60's on there.
The dropping out of the sky part does suck but that's partially my fault for not having the timer set up correctly. When this thing starts to die you better be inches from the ground. It shuts off quickly when it reaches LVC and with no autorotation one way bearing its fighting to spin the motor as it slows down.
I only have one flight on the thing which was on my lunch break after unboxing, charging the remote, and setting up the remote. Build quality is what you would expect in a $300 helicopter of this size I suppose. If I paid $400 I would start to feel ripped off. The rotor blades stick much higher above the helicopter then normal FBL DFC helicopters. I priced some commonly crashed parts, main rotor blades, landing skids, blade grips, rudder blades, tail fin, and they are right there with the mcpx,130x. So pretty cheap, difference is just about any strike with the ground will result in broken parts with this helicopter. This thing is large enough that the extensive use of plastic parts starts to be questionable.
The charger that comes with it is absolutely worthless. I'm not even sure why they include it because they dont include a power source for it. It also only charges through the balance port at 1C.
