Spektrum Tx - Rx Connection Broken

Hello Spectrum Experts,
I see you have a well organized Forum with countless members. I am new to the hobby, but an experienced programmer. I am trying to get help with two things.

1. How can I know if anyone has experience programming the Rx. I want to if there is a better way to monitor Tx - Rx connection besides the Red LED in the Rx. I want to program an Arduino to run a function when that pin comes on.

2. Are there Car model types that I can download and copy over to my Tx?

2 I'm not into cars but I would expect there are, have you tried the Spektrum Community site ?

Telemetry is the only way to monitor the signal or RSSI. As for the arduino stuff, never messed with one so I'm of no help there. I do know that it would need to be able to detect the signal that is put out which is usually 1000µs to 2000µs and has a very low voltage. The positive and negative pins are always live and never switch on or off. I'm not sure if arduino can detect that kind of signal or not.

Yes, Arduino can read every single pulse of the Rx.... I have implemented a PID to track the readings are there is no noise on the any channel lines. I only want to rite a fail safe function for if the transmission is lost...

There should be a failsafe built into the receiver when you bind it. The usual failsafe is throttle down steering straight. If you let me know what receiver you are using, I can try to get the procedure to set the failsafe directly in the receiver.

Hi Shakabula, you will have to register your Tx with this site to get the benefit, I have a DX9 and can download popular helicopter and plane profiles if you have a surface Tx there may be vehicle profiles available. I can't see that area as I don't have a surface Tx registered.

Guess what Admiral... I have tried to find the link I used from Spektrum but I cant seem to find how I landed here. I guess it must have been a link off the scores of topics I read on the forum. I find it later, I will come back to post it here.

Nope I don't have a surface transmitter, I have a DX8 Tx & Rx
