Yes, power boss 1700 watt gen. His should I try and clean the carb? Not much of a motor repair guy.

Here is something that may help:

If not, there are plenty of other online instructions and videos.

No charging will be done in the vehicle. Its just not safe. At least not in my eyes. I have been looking at a bunch of info since this idea came to me. I would be removing the bank from the car after each day at the field. It would be a pita but its the only safe way to do this.

Agreed, charging with the vehicle's existing alternator is not a good idea and you would have to install circuit breakers in the new wiring. That's too much hassle.

After today if I am at the club field I don't have to worry about power. Guys there will share electrons with me.

That's very communal and nice of them. :)

The guy I flew with on Monday told me not to worry about power at the field. Almost all the members have generators. So getting power won't be an issue. Thank god that expense is gone.

LOL, you've got to laugh at the irony of E-flyers.

What we are doing here, is converting a hydrocarbon (petrol) into another form of energy (electricity) and using that to power our aircraft.

Would it not be more efficient to just use an internal combustion engine to power our aircraft directly?

Those are called gassers and with the heli bug its just like a car. Unfortunately I don't have that kind of cash.

I used to fly glow plug fixed wing aircraft decades ago. Whilst petrol engines are generally cleaner, my health problems now prevent me from breathing in exhaust fumes from both types of engine.

Modern electric flying is the only way I could get back into the hobby.

Whilst petrol glow models have their place, electric is the way of the future for most modelers. From my perspective, electric flying is more in line with my professional and educational interests. I'm studying electronic engineering and computer science at Flinders University.

I think electric is more economical until you buy batteries. Plus its less work in the end. Yeah flight times are shorter but the trade off is less cost and tuning.
