General Trex 250/Spectrum AR8000

Building a Trex 250 and have a Spectrum AR8000 main and remote receivers. Is this the way to go, or is there a better receiver to use?

Hi Grepasg,welcome to the forum, there is no reason that an AR8000 will not work, however having built a couple of 250's my concern would be fitting all the electrics in neatly. An AR6xxx series without Satellite Rx would fit in the frame much easier and has plenty of range for a 250 even if it is DSM2.

The only issue I foresee is the size of that RX on a 250. Now if it fits then there should not be an issue. As for the remote receiver, that could be over kill on that size bird. Normally those are reserved for 500 size and up, but some folks like to run them on 450s too.

The AR8000 is a huge RX for a 250. All you need is a park fly RX for a 250. You're never going to be more than 100ft away from yourself.
