Since I mowed the front lawn and the grass wasn't too high I decided to practice flying off the lawn where I have more room for recoveries and dared a bit more height and distance. Having the "liesure" of time and space incase a recovery was needed I started to think a bit about some of the physics of heli flying.
Today's thought to ponder is do the training gear, other than helping prevent tipping when taking off and landing add any stability when flying? My thinking is that they may lower the center of gravity due to their weight, though small, but maybe more due to the wind resistance/load from the downdraft from the blades. Anyone have any thoughts on this?
