Got a new project I started on this week.
Mr. Post brought me a NEW FPV wing.
This is the Team Black Caipirinha
The one thing I like the best about this Wing is, all the slots are molded
for all your equipment, not much cutting to fit it all in.

If you want to know How to pronounce "Caipirinha" here you go... HERE LOL
This plane was named after a cocktail which was invented in Brazil

Anyway on with the info..

Specifications
34in / 85cm wingspan!
22oz / 620g AUW (including GoPro2 and battery) Note: GoPro 3 will be lighter
35min flying time (using TBS-recommended equipment)
10km range*

Being that I just sold my Rascal 110 I opted to get there equipment so I could fly 35 min +

The wing should to be a quick build. Just wiring will take a little time.

I will be using:

2000kv motor
8x5 Graupner Prop
12 amp esc
2s 3300mAh battery
2- 9 gram servos
ImmersionRC EzUHF 8-channel Receiver (Lite Edition) with a link cable to plug into the TBS Core
for all in flight data on my OSD

FPV Equipment
1.3GHz 300mW Transmitter - NEW CUSTOM READYMADERC US VERSION
DX201 DPS camera
TBS CORE PNP25 (power distrubution and OSD) this will power my camera and video transmitter along with having a 25A current sensor. Also showing my RSSI

I will be using a GoPro 3 Balck edition to record my flight.

On with the unboxing... :excitement:

I got some NEW glue to try out. Should have the same holding strength as Gorilla glue without the foaming mess.
Might take a little longer to dry , but i will wait to not have a messy model

The Wing had 2 carbon fiber tubes and 3 flat spars to make it stiff.
I have the 2 sides jouned now just wait for the glue to dry.

Got a little more done this morning....

Here is a good view showing how all the slots for equipment are molded in

05- TBS Caipirinha.JPG

Had to clear a little foam to get my VTX to fit just right

06- TBS Caipirinha.jpg

here is how it slides right in the slot

11- TBS Caipirinha.JPG

Now time to fit My RX in place cut a small section of foam to lift the RX up to fit flush with the top of the wing

08- TBS Caipirinha.JPG

Also added a little weight under the foam so the plane would balance laterally

Foam in place

Rx fits flush... sorry for the blurred pic.

Now on to the wiring of all equipment... Should have it down after lunch

Hey Craig, sorry about not getting back to you on that PM. I was at work when I got it, then everyone and their brother decided to start bothering me. Forgot all about it, my bad.

Plane looks pretty good. HOpe it works good for ya. Is that antenna not going to cause drag on one side of the plane? Just wondering.

I'm working on a new forum section for FPV aircraft and videos. When I get that done, I will move this in there. Trying to come up with an easier design for the forum.

Yep It may just a bit, but it is pretty thin and the RX antenna is on the other side.
Just one of the things you have to deal with when using long Range video stuff. The antennas are much bigger on the
lower freq. like 900mHz and 1.3gHz

BTW did you ever get enough MultiCopter stuff for your Build?

One mor thing I got the Camera and motor mount built and mounted.
Had to test fit my cameras, don't look to bad....:friendly_wink:

I did have to cut on the GoPro box so my Layered Lens would fit, got to protect that lens if you go down :nevreness:

I dont' have anything for a multi. It seems that every time I try to start a quad build, something in life takes it away. I would love to get one, build it, and get some goggles, but not sure when I will be able to. Money just isn't there with what has happened here lately.

Can't wait to see this plane in the air bro!

Looks really nice Craig.
I really wanted to get a wing up with FPV. Hopefully when life settles down again i will. Look forward to the videos.

Thanks Guys.... I funded half of this setup buy selling another plane :glee:

If all goes I may have it ready for sat. I have one little thing to work out.
It has got me stumped right now. I have the EzUHF with a link cable and I can't get it to output my RSSI to the OSD.
Other than that I have it all together just have to put my wiglets on

Oh Yeah, Here are a few more pics.

An got most all my wiring done... YEAH!!!
Only thing left is the RSSI.

Worked on this all day and here is what I have. I will cover up all wires once I check it all out and get it in the air.

Looks pretty cool, I'd love to get something like that but I'd have to learn to fly a plane first.
At least with quads and heli's you can stop and gather your wits.
Maybe one day. :):)

Thanks for the comments...It's all good... It wouldn't take you long to get the hang of it

Here are a few more pics, also did the maiden and it turned out pretty good.

One thing though is it is so light that the wind will make it wobble a little in flight.
Makes me look like I can't fly smooth. LOL
I also forgot my esc programing card before the maiden. I had my timing set to high
and found out it should have been medium instead. The motor was getting a little to warm.
So I had to swap props from a 8x5 to a 7x5 the motor was just a bit past warm
When I set my timing down I can put my 8x5 back on.
I did check the current draw, WOT is 9.5 amps on a 2s 3300mAh.
Should have a video posted later today.
