I've never used tail curve.
It a mix from Throttle/Pitch to the tail
It was needed in the olden days before good gyros came along.
Now the gyros are better and you have something called Precomp in the FBL unit.
Its not always needed unless you are getting a twitch in high torque manoeuvres.
