Greetings guys,

This spring will be my second season in the Hobby, and i've been training a lot this winter on the sim, last season was merely some circuits, flips, loops, inverted hovering, but this new season i plan on doing more sport flying, basics 3D, but most of all flying all the 16 directions which includes all the Funnels, Hurricane, circles and so on... so flying will be a bit different from last summer, so now i guess RPM might starts to get a bit more important, but i kinda hardly understand the charts that comes in the instruction manual (attached picture). I've been watching Tony's video on KV explained

(KV Rating Explained & Headspeed Calculation.flv - YouTube)

i've done the math about my RPM, whichs gives me about 2093 Headpseed (1200 kv*22.2(112T/11T)*.8 How can i know if that's enough.... I'm using the 520mm Blades.... My Throttle Curves are Normal 0/65/85/95/95, ID1 95/95/95/95/95 and ID2 100/100/100/100/100 as for Pitch curves -11/+11 Range, Normal 15%/25%/50%/75%/100% same as ID1 which gives me around -7 or -8/+11, and ID2 is linear 0/25/50/75/100 (using DX8 TX) My packs are Gens Ace 5000Mah 6S

I'm sinply getting confused on all what needs to be checked.... i want to know what i should do the math for to make sure the bird doen't drop as i'll be asking a lot more this sumer than last season.

It's not even easy to explain what or where i'm confused at. :) LEt's say that the chart in the manual get's me really confused to understand how it works... i know it might sounds stupid, but i rather look stupid asking, than staying stupid without asking. :)

Thanks

Doum

At the slow end if the heli not acting in a strange manor your fine. At the high I am nit sure. I know on a 700 size some folks at flying between 1400 and 2000 at the head and are still doing 3d.

The slower the head speed more collective management you'll need. You will notice the head will bog easier.

When i had the 520mm blades on mine and a 12 tooth pinion and the 112 main gear it was in the ball park of 2400 give or take
To me the 550 dose not like super low head speeds under 2000
I lift off around 1800 and go strait to ID1 2100 and fly it around then ID2 is 2350 to 2400 and it has all the spunk it needs for my flying
