General Sub-Trim

Just used the Blade swashplate leveling tool on my Blade 450 3D using the instructions from the web site. Curious as to if there's a value when using the sub-trim (DX6i) to level the servo arms that it is better to loosen and reposition the arm?

I was surprised at the amount I had to adjust sub-trim and lengthen the link for the elev.. The other servos only needed a bit of sub-trim to level the arms.

First align the servo arms as close to 90 degree to the servo body with the sub trim set to 0.
onces that is done make sure the links are set to the length in the manual.
connect the links and sub-trim so the servo arms are 90 degrees to the links.
use the swash tool and adjust the link lengths as needed to level the swash.
if I am wrong I will be corrected, but that should be close.

I agree with what URI stated, but do not adjust the arms against the body of the servo, this will get you in trouble down the road if you have say.. a 250 that has two angled servos. You want to go 90º to the linkage going up to the swash. You will use sub trim to do this. Once the servo arms are level, connect your linkages to the servos and swash and check for a level swash. If it's not level, adjust the links, not the servos to level it out. Hope this helps.
